BTS' Jin, EXO's Chen, actor Jung Il Woo, DRIPPIN & more postpone promotions and album releases amid Itaewon tragedy

Following the recent tragic events in Itaewon, multiple South Korean celebrities are canceling and postponing their scheduled promotional activities for the next few days.

Halloween celebrations turned deadly in South Korea’s Itaewon. It was reported that a crowd crush led to the death of 154 people, of whom 26 were foreign nationals and 132 were injured as per updates on Sunday, according to Korea Herald. An estimate of 100,000 people was expected to be in attendance on Saturday night in Itaewon.

In the narrow alley, around 10:40 pm, the crowd began to surge leaving people stuck there for over one and a half hours. This led to suffocation in the tight space. Videos and photos went viral on social media in which people and first responders were giving CPR on the spot to people who were unresponsive and went into cardiac arrest. Maximum fatalities were those of people in their 20s.

In light of the tragic events, BTS' Jin’s debut appearance on SBS’ reality show Running Man, which was scheduled for October 30, has now been cancelled. SBS announced the cancelation of his episode by issuing an official statement and asked for fans’ understanding.

Meanwhile, PSY's South Korean record label and entertainment agency PNATION announced that the label will “postpone uploading all scheduled promotional activities and contents until 11/05 12AM during this national mourning period.”

EXO's Chen also decided to postpone the release of his upcoming 3rd solo mini album Last Scene.

Moreover, actor Jung Il Woo also announced via statement on social media about the postponement of his fan meeting in Japan. The statement reads, “Notice of postponement of Osaka and Tokyo fan meeting. First of all, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the Itaewon accident in Korea. As the period of national remembrance has been set in Korea, we also have to make a difficult decision to express our intentions of remembrance.”

The statement continued, “We have decided to postpone the Osaka and Tokyo performances you have been waiting for for a long time. We deeply apologize for having to postpone the fan meeting you have been waiting for and cheering us on until now. We promise to see you again, and once again we sincerely apologize. To the fans who came to the Osaka and Tokyo performances, Jung Il-woo would like to personally apologize.”

“The purchased ticket can be used for the next postponed performance, so please keep it until further notice,” they added.

Yong Jun Hyung's EP titled Loner, whose virtual tracks and physical album were both scheduled to be released on Sunday and Monday respectively, have now been delayed. Moreover, newly released films Remember and Confession canceled the appearance of cast members and directors at theaters to greet audiences.

Initially, Nam Joo Hyuk, Lee Sung Min, and director Lee Il Hyung were scheduled to participate in the event for Remember, while So Ji Sub, Kim Yoon Jin, Nana, and director Yoon Jong Sik were scheduled to participate for Confession. Ma Dong Seok’s upcoming film Men of Plastic also canceled its press conference.

Janhvi Kapoor reveals how Mili had taken a toll on her health; says, “Used to dream I was still in the freezer”

Readers would be aware that Janhvi Kapoor will be seen in the one-of-a-kind survival drama Mili, which is a remake of the Malayalam movie Helen. The film will feature her in the role of a waiter who works for a food chain. She gets trapped in a freezer as her loved ones send out a search party to find her. Speaking about the difficulty of shooting such films, Janhvi Kapoor described recently to the media the challenges she faced while shooting for the film and how it took a toll on her health.

During a recent press conference in Delhi, Janhvi Kapoor recalled the time when she was shooting for Mili, saying, “I remember it (film) taking a genuine toll on my mental health because I would come back home after wrapping up shoot and I would go to sleep and dream that I was still in the freezer. I fell ill and I was on severe painkillers for two three days and even the director was unwell.”

The actress went on to add, "If you spend 15 hours of your day in a freezer in a closed environment crying for the majority of the day, sometimes with a rat that keeps nibbling your fingers, it is not glamorous for sure."

Mili also stars Manoj Pahwa, and Sunny Kaushal in pivotal roles and it is directed by Mathukutty Xavier who also directed the original. The film marks Janhvi’s first collaboration with her father Boney Kapoor who has produced the film. The actress will next be seen in Mr. and Mrs. Mahi which will also feature Rajkummar Rao along with Bawaal that will bring together the Kapoor girl and Varun Dhawan for the first time.

Judwaa fame Rambha meets with a car accident in Canada; daughter Sasha admitted to hospital

Bollywood actress Rambha met with a car accident in Canada. Her car was badly damaged in this accident and her daughter's condition is said to be critical. At the time of the accident, Rambha along with her children and her nanny were also in the car. Rambha's daughter Sasha has been admitted in the hospital.

Informing about the mishap with her fans, Rambha took to her social media handle and shared a couple of pictures. While in the first picture, her daughter can be seen getting treatment, the rest of the pictures featured her damaged car.

In the caption, the Judwaa actress wrote, “Our car was hit by another car at an intersection wayback from picking kids from school! "Me with kids and my nanny "All of us are safe with minor injuries / my little sasha is still in the hospital.” She further added, “bad days bad time / please pray for us / your prayers means a lot.”

As soon as she shared the post, her fans and friends poured wishes and prayers for her. Actress Meena Sagar wrote, “Omg jayamma please take care. Stay safe. Don't worry , sasha baby will be fine soon. Love and prayers.”

The वरGIN Tree: Sunny Singh, Mouni Roy, Palak Tiwari to star in Sanjay Dutt and Deepak Mukut's maiden venture

Besides being an ace superstar, Sanjay Dutt is keen to carve his name as a prolific producer. A year ago, Dutt set up his production company - Three Dimension Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd which will bankroll feature films and other content. Now, one hears that along with producer Deepak Mukut’s Soham Rockstar Entertainment, the star is steering his company into the first venture. The duo has come together for their next titled The वरGIN Tree. The film is a horror comedy with an ensemble which includes Sunny Singh, Mouni Roy, Palak Tiwari, Aasif Khan and also the launch vehicle for debutant Nikunj Lotia, known as Be YouNick. It is directed by Sidhaant Sachdev and written by Vanuksh Arora & Sidhaant Sachdev.

Talking about the film, Sanjay Dutt says, “I am pleased to back the film which was exactly the script I was looking for. The film is the perfect blend of comedy and horror, with the right balance of chills and thrills. I am so glad to have found a production partner, in Deepak Mukut whose cinematic vision and ideals align with mine. BTS’ RM to drop solo album on November 25

Pop titans BTS are unstoppable. When in June 2022 the group announced they are taking a break from group music, they also mentioned that the focus would be to release solo work and collaborations. In the last couple of months, several collaborations have been released from the members. Following J-Hope’s Jack In The Box album and Jin’s single ‘The Astronaut’ with Coldplay, the group’s leader RM will drop his solo album on November 25.

If the reports are to be believed, the member is currently gearing up for his solo work which he teased on his Instagram story a few days ago. In response to the report, a source from BIGHIT MUSIC said in a statement, “RM will be releasing a solo album, and he is currently in preparations.”

RM has previously mixtapes titled RM and Mono. He recently did a song collaboration with Balming Tiger on ‘Sexy Nukim’

Meanwhile, BTS members have all released collaborations in recent times. J-Hope became the first member to drop his solo album in July 2022 with Jack In The Box with two lead tracks ‘MORE’ and ‘ARSON’. He released his collaboration ‘Rush Hour’ with rapper Crush on September 22.

On the other hand, V released his OST ‘Christmas Tree’ for the Korean drama Our Beloved Summer. He was also featured on Benny Blanco’s track ‘Bad Decisions’ along with Jin, Jimin and Jungkook. Jungkook collaborated with Charlie Puth on the track ‘Left and Right’; SUGA collaborated with PSY on ‘That That’ whereas Jimin released an OST ‘With You’ with Ha Sung Woon for K-drama Our Blues.

It was recently announced that BTS will fulfil their mandatory military conscription and opt for full-time service. Jin will be the first one to enlist followed by other members after their solo work releases. They will resume activities as a group in 2025.
