BREAKING: CBFC targets Disha Patani’s HOT intimate scene on the butchering table; awards Ek Villain Returns U/A certificate

The much-awaited film Shamshera was released on Friday, July 22. Sadly, its opening has been below expectations. Moreover, the word of mouth has not been very positive and as a result, the film will face a tough time at the box office. All eyes are therefore on next week’s release, Ek Villain Returns. There are several hopes from Mohit Suri’s directorial venture though several expectations were riding on Shamshera as well. Nevertheless, the young crowd might turn up in hordes as the film seems to have a great combo of sex and violence.

Many expected Ek Villain Returns to get an adults-only rating, especially due to Disha Patani’s hot scenes. However, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has awarded the film with a U/A certificate. The makers however had to make two modifications, one of which is with regards to the dialogues and the other with regards to the visuals.

The CBFC’s examining committee asked for certain terms like ‘Mental’, ‘Kuttiya’, ‘B*tch’, ‘Kamina’ and ‘Harami’ to be removed or replaced with acceptable terms. Secondly, the makers were asked to delete or modify suitably the visuals of killing by a saw blade, visuals of blood and flesh and prominent visuals of mutilated body parts. Even the visuals of intimacy on the butchering table, featuring Disha Patani, that was prominently shown in the trailer, have been either cut or reduced. On the brighter side, only 9 seconds of visuals have been chopped by the Censor board.

After these changes were made, the CBFC handed over the censor certificate yesterday, on July 22. The duration of the film, as mentioned in the censor certificate, is 128.54 minutes. In other words, Ek Villain Returns is 2 hours 8 minutes and 54 seconds long. Interestingly, the first part, Ek Villain (2014), which was also directed by Mohit Suri, also had more or less a similar runtime, of 129 minutes.

Besides Disha Patani, Ek Villain Returns also stars John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor and Tara Sutaria. It will be released in cinemas on July 29.

Ricky Martin speaks out for the first time after incest and harassment case filed by his nephew is dismissed - “I was victim of a lie”

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Puerto Rican singer said he was not allowed to address the claims made against him due to legal procedures in a video message where he expressed relief over the case’s dismissal, adding that his priority is to heal. “For two weeks, I was not allowed to defend myself because I was following procedure, where the law … obligated me not to talk until I was in front of the judge,” Martin said in the clip.

He continued, "Thank God [these] claims were proven to be false, but I'm going to tell you the truth. It has been so painful. It has been devastating for me, for my family, for my friends. I don't wish this upon anybody." While Martin, who has denied the allegations against him since they surfaced earlier this month, did not identify his accuser, the Spanish media outlet Marca previously reported it to be his nephew Eric Martin, the son of his brother.

"To the person that was claiming this nonsense, I wish him the best. And I wish he finds the help so he can start a new life filled with love and truth and joy and he doesn't hurt anybody else." His priority now is "to heal," adding, "And how do I heal? With music. I cannot wait to be back on stage," said the singer. "I cannot wait to be back in front of the cameras, and entertain, which is what I do best.

He concluded, “Thank you to all of my friends. Thank you to all the fans who always believed in me. You have no idea the strength that you gave me with every comment you wrote on social media. I wish you love and light." The star's legal drama began when a restraining order against him was granted under Law 54, also known as the Domestic Abuse Prevention and Intervention Act.

His nephew reportedly alleged that he and Martin had had a romantic relationship, and additional reports indicated that the singer could face 50 years in prison if convicted. "Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be — involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew," Marty Singer, attorney for the singer, said in a statement.

As per the report, during a court appearance in Puerto Rico Thursday, Ricky Martin's nephew dropped the allegations against him, effectively ending the case. The singer issued a statement through his local attorneys following the development. "Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the Court," attorneys Joaquín Monserrate Matienzo, Carmelo Dávila, and Harry Massanet Pastrana said.

Koffee With Karan 7: Karan Johar invites Sanjay Leela Bhansali and SS Rajamouli

Karan Johar wants his two legendary friends epic filmmakers Sanjay Leela Bhansali and S S Rajamouli on this season’s Koffee With Karan. And he wants them together. Of course, he knows a segment with the two biggest filmmakers of the country cannot have the normal quota of giggly rapid fires.

He is ready with all his well-researched questions on them. But there is a problem. Sanjay Bhansali is now shooting for his web series Heeramandi. “It is very difficult for SLB to think of anything else when he is shooting. He has therefore not said yes as yet to Koffee With Karan. However Karan Johar is relentless and tomorrow is another day,” says a source close to Karan.

Interestingly, Rajamouli is a big SLB fan. But they have never sat down to talk together. This could be their chance to catch up.

Koffee With Karan 7: Karan Johar calls himself 'flagbearer of nepotism'; Samantha Ruth Prabhu on South industry's legacy: 'Nepo kids or non-nepo kids, everyone comes with their own demons'

Filmmaker Karan Johar is back on the coffee couch! Season 7 of Koffee With Karan kicked off on Disney+ Hotstar with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt followed by actresses Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan as guests in the second episode. As the buzz around the show increases, the Koffee With Karan couch saw Akshay Kumar and Samantha Ruth Prabhu who brought lively potboiler of glamour, secrets and witty one-liners. The hot topic of the episode was also nepotism and how Karan Johar is labelled as 'flagbearer of nepotism.'

Karan Johar said, "I have to address the N word." He went onto ask Samantha about the nepotism in Telugu industry as everyone's related to everyone. She said, "I think it differs from apple to apple. Nepo kids or non-nepo kids, everyone comes with their own demons and their own demons to face. Taapsee Pannu starrer Dobaaraa directed by Anurag Kashyap is all set to open the prestigious Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2022

Directed by Anurag Kashyap and written by Nihit Bhave, Dobaaraa stars Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati in the lead roles. The story revolves around how a woman gets the opportunity to save the life of a 12-year-old boy who witnessed a death during a thunderstorm, which happened 25 years ago, by getting connected through the television set during a similar storm in the present. This film is the Hindi remake of the 2018 Spanish movie Mirage.

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is one of the biggest celebrations of Indian cinema outside of the sub-continent. After two years of the festival being held online, the festival is gearing up to be held physically this year with the vision of bringing the vibrancy of Indian cinema to where it belongs – on the big screen. With films like Dobaaraa, the IFFM team is bringing another exciting, diverse set of Indian cinema to Melbourne and developing a blockbuster program of supporting events along with the same.

Dobaaraa will be the opening night film at IFFM 2022, for which both Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee Pannu would be traveling to Melbourne. Touted as a 'must-watch' through early screening across, the film's new age and cutting-edge narrative is being wholly loved and applauded all over the world.

Dobaaraa is scheduled to be released worldwide on August 19. The film marks Kashyap and Pannu's third collaboration after the 2018 hit Manmarziyaan and biographical drama Saand Ki Aankh (2019), on which he served as producer. It also reunites her with Thappad co-star Pavail Gulati. The film is jointly produced by Ektaa Kapoor's Cult Movies, a new division under Balaji Telefilms, and Sunir Kheterpal and Gaurav Bose's banner Athena.
