Ayushmann Khurrana speaks on showcasing Hindi cinema's charm at Wembley stadium; calls it "a huge moment"

Young Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana is a one-of-a-kind actor-artiste of India. He is set to create a personal milestone by performing at the iconic Wembley Stadium for the first time and he couldn’t be prouder!

He says, “It gives me immense pride that I will be performing at the Wembley stadium which has historically seen incredible acts from musical icons like Queen, Coldplay, George Michael, Michael Jackson to the historic sporting events including the 1966 FIFA World Cup Finals!”

Ayushmann, who is known for his singing has delivered chartbuster songs like ‘Paani Da Rang,’ ‘Sadi Gali,’ ‘Nazm Nazm,’ ‘Naina Da Kya Kasoor,’ ‘Mitti Di Khushboo,’ ‘Haareya’ etc will do a two-city UK tour in the month of September this year. Performing at a packed Wembley Stadium is going to be a massive high point of this artiste's career.

Ayushmann says, “India is at the centre stage of global conversations in every aspect. Our art and artists are globally known now and Hindi cinema’s popularity and appeal are only surging. As an Indian, it is a huge moment for me to be performing at Wembley and representing the Hindi film industry and the charm of our cinema to people in the UK.”

The actor, who will be performing alongside Hrithik Roshan during this UK Tour to showcase the vibrancy of Hindi films and their music, adds, “I only hope that we bring the house down at this haloed stadium and give people an experience that they will hopefully remember for a long, long time!”

Carry On Jatta 3 accused of hurting religious sentiments; Shiv Sena Hind leaders file complaint

Carry On Jatta 3, a Punjabi comedy film, has been accused of hurting religious sentiments by a group of Shiv Sena leaders. The complaint was filed at the Jalandhar police station by Ishant Sharma, president of the Youth committee of Shiv Sena Hind, and Sunil Kumar Bunty, chairman of Punjab Shiv Sena (Taksali). The leaders alleged that a scene in the film shows a Hindu priest being humiliated. They say that the scene is derogatory and disrespectful to the Hindu religion. 

Bunty told ANI, “We filed a complaint on behalf of Shiv Sena Hind. In the film Carry On Jatta 3, which is aimed at Hindus, a Brahmin who is seen performing Havan rituals is humiliated in a scene. Gippy Grewal, Binnu Dhillon and Gurpreet Ghuggi have violated the faith of millions of Hindus by throwing water on the ‘Havan Kund’. Because in Hindu religion if any ritual has to be done, then ‘Havan’ is performed first.”

Explaining further, he added, “So, today, we have filed a complaint against all of them and demanded that section 295 be imposed on them for hurting religious sentiments. And if an attempt is made by them to spoil the atmosphere in Punjab, for that, Section 153 should be imposed.”

Sunil continued, “These individuals attempt to increase their TRP by targeting the Hindu religion. They would have destroyed or set the theatre on fire if this had happened to another caste. Hinduism is a very soft religion. That’s why we went to the government first. If they won’t act within 24 hours, then the director Kang and Gurpreet Ghuggi’s house is in Jalandhar only. We will be protesting outside their homes.”

Meanwhile, Ishant Sharma asserted, “We saw the full film after people sent us the clip, and we came forward today. Our hearts are hurt, that's why we came here to complain,” in a conversation with ANI. On the other hand, neither the makers nor the actors have reacted to the controversy, as of now.

Gol Maal and Namak Halaal actor Harish Magon passes away at 76

The Indian film industry mourns the loss of veteran actor Harish Magon, who breathed his last on June 1. Best known for his remarkable performances in iconic Hindi films such as Gol Maal, Namak Halaal, and Inkaar, Magon's demise has left a void in the hearts of fans.

The Cine And TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) broke the unfortunate news via their official Twitter account, expressing their condolences. The heartfelt post read, "CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Harish Magon (Member since JUNE. 1988)." The news spread rapidly across social media platforms, with fans pouring in their messages of grief and remembrance.

Harish Magon was a graduate of the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). He was an immensely talented actor who showcased his versatility in a wide range of roles. Magon's acting prowess was evident in his memorable performances in movies like Chupke Chupke, Khushboo, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, and Shahenshah. 

Apart from his acting career, Harish Magon was known for his contributions as an educator in the field of acting. He founded the Harish Magon Acting Institute in Mumbai's Juhu area, where he nurtured aspiring actors and shared his knowledge and experience with them. 

Harish Magon's last on-screen appearance was in the 1997 romantic drama Uff! Yeh Mohabbat, where he captivated audiences with his nuanced portrayal. The news of Harish Magon's demise comes as a shock to the film industry.

Nana Patekar does voiceover for Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel return as Tara Singh and Sakeena in Gadar 2 after their 2001 movie Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The movie is scheduled for the August release. Now, it has been learnt that veteran actor Nana Patekar has done voiceover for the film. Originally, in the first installment, Om Puri had done voiceover for the introductory scenes. Now, Nana Patekar’s voiceover will be heard in the film at the very start of the movie.

 Helmed by Anil Sharma Gadar 2 hints that the story begins right from where the story ended in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The first installment was based on the love story of Tara Singh and Sakeena, which left an everlasting impact on the hearts of the audiences and still continues to do so.

The song ‘Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava’ was re-released as a reprised version. The film will also have ‘Main Nikla Gaddi Leke’ recreation as well which will also arrive soon.

Helmed by Director-Producer Anil Sharma, and produced by Zee Studios, the movie stars Superstar Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in lead roles. Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna to kick off Anees Bazmee's next in Mumbai in August

Shahid Kapoor is all set to commence his next project soon. Following the releases of Farzi and Bloody Daddy, the actor will now work with Anees Bazmee for an action comedy. Rashmika Mandanna also stars in the movie. The plan is to kick off the shoot in August 2023. The film will reportedly see the actor in a double role.

In May 2023, Bollywood Hungama had revealed that Shahid Kapoor allotted his dates to Anees Bazmee and will soon commence shooting for this action comedy. According to our sources close to the development, Shahid Kapoor will start shooting for Anees Bazmee's comedy on August 1. "Shahid Kapoor is very excited to do an out-and-out comedy after a long time and will commence his work on the film from August 1. He has allotted bulk dates to Anees Bazmee from August to December as the team is planning a start-to-finish schedule," revealed a trade source to Bollywood Hungama.

"Apart from Shahid and Rashmika, a big ensemble cast will be a part of Anees Bazmee's comedy and an announcement shall be made soon. The movie will be released next year and the title will be revealed by July," the trade source told us further.

Now, turns out, the shoot will commence in Mumbai and will be shot on a set with Rajasthani Haveli backdrop. As per a report in Mid-Day, a trade source said, "Anees and his technical team, including DoP Manu Anand and production designer Rajat Poddarr, scouted for locations in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan before finalising the desert state. In the first schedule that rolls in Mumbai, the leads will shoot indoor scenes, with the set depicting the interiors of a Rajasthani haveli."

The three-week schedule will come to an end with a 15-day break in Mumbai following which they will head to Rajasthan for the shoot schedule. The source further revealed, “Anees wants to do a start-to-finish schedule in the state from mid-September and complete a chunk of the film by October. Then comes the movie’s most crucial schedule in Mumbai, which will involve a lot of action. If things go as planned, the project will be wrapped up by the year-end.”

Apart from Dil Raju, the movie also has Ekta Kapoor as one of the producers and more details will be unveiled soon.
