Sunny Leone promises to donate blood after the youths in a Karnataka village conduct blood donation camp on her birthday

Sunny Leone turned a year older on Friday and celebrated her 41st birthday on May 13. She had a birthday bash which was attended by her close friends. Sunny's fans from across the country also celebrated her birthday. A village in Karnataka organised a blood donation camp to celebrate Sunny's birthday. The actress took to her social media to appreciate the gesture and promised to donate her blood as well.

Sharing a newspaper cutout of the villagers of Kommerahalli village in Karnataka organising a blood donation camp, Sunny wrote, "Omg this is unbelievable. In honor of you I will also go donate my blood!! Thank you so much! You all really make me feel so special! Love you!"

As per reports, the youth in Kommerahalli village erected large cutouts of Leone, cut a cake, burst crackers, distributed food, and conducted a camp that collected 39 units of blood. The youths of the village formed an association in her name to conduct charity events. They revealed that they respect Leone for her work towards helping orphan children. The youths of the village often conduct charity work as part of Sunny Leone Fan's Association. This is the second time that the association has celebrated her birthday.

IIFA 2022 rescheduled for July amid UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's death

The grandest celebration of Indian Cinema, the International Indian Film Academy and Awards, was set to thrill fans with its 22nd edition in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi on May 20 and 21, 2022. But, due to the death of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the event has been postponed.

The president passed away at the age of 73 after battling illness for several years. “The Ministry of Presidential Affairs has mourned to the UAE people, Arab and Islamic nations and the world the death of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan," the official WAM news agency tweeted.

Since UAE has announced 40 days of mourning, with flags at half-mast from Friday and work has been suspended for the first three days in the public and private sectors, IIFA has decided to postpone the award ceremony. It will now take place in July 2022 and the dates are 14th, 15th and 16th.

Hosted by Salman Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, the highly anticipated event promises to be a mélange of glitz and glamour with stunning performances from Bollywood’s superstars including Varun Dhawan, Ananya Panday among others.

Sonam Kapoor invests in blockchain-based game MechaFightClub

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapor has invested an undisclosed amount in the blockchain-based game MechaFightClub(MFC), launched by online gaming startup Irreverent Labs.

“I’ve grown up playing video games and love everything about them. The art, the storytelling, the creativity that goes into developing a game that is exciting today and also stands the test of time is something that’s always intrigued me,” Sonam Kapoor wrote on Twitter announcing her investment.

“All this drew me to MFC, and what’s more groundbreaking is how MFC is bringing the video gaming industry into the next chapter of Web 3.0. I am elated to be a part of their family,” she added.

"MFC takes place in a world ravaged by long-since abandoned alien technology. Evil corporations monopolized this and enslaved humanity, but a global resistance seized and repurposed them as weapons of mass entertainment,” reads the official description of the game on its website. “Mechabot roosters are smart, and hens are even smarter. Each mechabot is a fully unique individual living on the blockchain with its own digital biology and intelligence. They will even learn, developing their own fighting styles and personalities throughout their lives".

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sonam will next be seen in the film Blind directed by Shome Makhija and produced by Sujoy Ghosh. On the personal, the actress is expecting her first child with her husband Anand Ahuja. The two had shared the happy news earlier this year.

Helly Shah to grace the red carpet for L’Oréal Paris at Cannes Film Festival 2022

Television actor Helly Shah makes her Cannes debut for the poster launch of her debut film Kaya Palat on 21st May. The actor will also walk the red carpet for L’Oréal Paris at Cannes film festival. Helly will be seen gracing her presence and will be in the element while walking the red carpet.

The actor will visit Cannes for the poster launch of her feature film Kaya Palat which is a dark thriller genre. The film is directed by Shoaib Nikash Shah.

The film is co-written by Rahat Kazmi and Shoib Nikash Shah with Rahat Kazmi and Tariq Khan playing leads opposite Helly Shah in the gritty thriller. The film is produced by Rahat Kazmi Film Studios.

Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 advance booking opens; film to have lowest ticket rate post pandemic

Anees Bazmee’s directorial Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is all set to hit the theatres on May 20. With the film just a week away from its release, the advance bookings for the film have opened. The makers of the film starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in the lead have adopted the 'audience first' policy for the pricing of the tickets.

So what does audience first policy entail? The film producers (T-Series and Cine1 Studios) have decided to open the bookings at regular minimal- basic prices and premium rates. The ticket prices for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will witness the lowest rate for any movie post-pandemic. Sources close to the film say that the makers have kept the audiences first before thinking about making profits on the film. The makers are confident and believe in the film and want more audiences to come to the cinema and enjoy this family film.

Owing to the horror-comedy genre of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the film is expected to get more and more people to the theatres. Post the pandemic, several big films have struggled to get audiences to the theatres. However, trade believes Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will be able to get people to the cinema hall. The film is also a sequel to the 2007 super hit film starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan. While the sequel is a completely new story with a new approach and cast, the makers have retained some nostalgia-driven elements.

The film also stars Tabu and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles. The story is by Akash Kaushik and the dialogues have been penned by Farhad Samji and Akash Kaushik.

BREAKING: Madhuri Dixit plays a homosexual character in Amazon Prime Video’s Maja Maa

On April 28, Amazon Prime Video held a very memorable event wherein they officially announced their upcoming 41 films and web series. Interestingly, the star cast and directors of each of these projects were invited on stage and some of the actors of these films or shows even performed live. One of the most memorable of these performances in that event was that of Madhuri Dixit. She is a part of Amazon Prime Video’s first original Hindi movie, Maja Maa. The evergreen actor danced gracefully to the foot-tapping song 'Rangeela Mara Naach' while announcing the film. A short teaser was also unveiled to the media and it gave an idea that the film is a conventional entertainer, revolving around a family.

It has now come to light that Maja Maa is not the usual family film. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Madhuri Dixit in Maja Maa plays a homosexual character. How her sexual orientation leads to conflict, madness and loads of entertainment while she’s gearing up for her son’s wedding forms the crux of the film.”

Besides Madhuri Dixit, Maja Maa also stars Gajraj Rao, Ritwik Bhowmik, Rajit Kapur, Barkha Singh and Simone Singh. It is directed by Anand Tiwari. The source continued, “It goes without saying that the homosexual element is obviously handled sensitively, minus any titillation in Maja Maa. Times have changed. Recently, Bhumi Pednekar also played a lesbian in Badhaai Do and her portrayal was depicted beautifully. Similarly, Madhuri Dixit’s character, too, has been handled sensitively in Maja Maa. That’s why a star like her agreed to sign for such an out-of-the-box part.”

Interestingly, this is probably not the first time that Madhuri Dixit is playing a homosexual. In Dedh Ishqiya (2014), it was implied that her character and that of Huma Qureshi were lovers. The makers, however, never made it clear and left it to the audience to interpret. Meanwhile, a few months back, in her much-talked about web series, The Fame Game, Avinash aka Avi (Lakshvir Singh Saran) is shown to be gay and her mother, played by Madhuri, knows about it and accepts him wholeheartedly. It now remains to be seen whether Madhuri Dixit’s family and loved ones in Maja Maa also embrace her sexual orientation with open arms.

Zoya Akhtar unveils first look of The Archies starring Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda
