Liger Trailer Launch: Vijay Deverakonda says north and south actors have always worked together: 'I am looking forward to the day when it is no longer called north and south'

Vijay Deverakonda's highly anticipated trailer for his upcoming film, Liger was unveiled in Hyderabad and Mumbai amid much fanfare. Starring the young man as a professional MMA fighter, the film stars Ramya Krishnan and Ananya Panday in pivotal roles with Mike Tyson's special appearance. At the press conference, Vijay was asked whether his film Liger will be a boon to Bollywood or his presence will be a boon to South industry.

The actor responded, “I see it as me getting to live a dream. A personal dream in my career.” He continued, “I love telling stories and I love telling it to huge audiences and huge auditoriums. What bigger auditorium than India, so I just see it as a personal dream and ambition coming to life.”

“Actresses have worked in the south. Anil Kapoor sir debuted down south. Directors have been making films up north. Sridevi maam has been a south actor. Now it’s loud, but the industry has always been working with each other. It’s just that now we are doing cinema that the entire country watches and it’s about time that this happens,” he said.

Vijay Deverakonda added, “I am looking forward to the day when it is no longer called north and south but Indian cinema and Indian actors. That is what we should look towards.”

Liger is all set to hit the big screens from 25th of August. The Puri Jagannadh directorial also stars Ramya Krishnan and Ananya Panday in pivotal roles.

SCOOP: Tiger Shroff & Rashmika Mandanna's next with Karan Johar titled Screw Dheela

After Student of the Year 2, Tiger Shroff is all set to team up with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions for the second time. The athletic actor will be directed by Dulhania Series fame, Shashank Khaitan, in an action-packed entertainer that goes on floors in September. He will be paired alongside Pushpa fame actrese Rashmika Mandanna in the film. And now, Bollywood Hungama has an exclusive update on this film.

According to a source close to the development, the Shashank Khaitan film has been titled Screw Dheela. "The title is derived from the traits of Tiger Shroff's character in the film. It's a wacky character and hence, the film has got a whacky title - Screw Dheela - which means Sanki," revealed a source to Bollywood Hungama, adding further that everyone at Dharma Productions is excited with this massy title that they have got for the Shashank Khaitan film.

The film will be shot in India and abroad with the first schedule expected to kick off in Europe. Both Tiger and Rashmika will be a part of this schedule. "It's not one of those run of the mill actioner but has a strong story too and falls in the zone that Tiger has not explored before. The film will be released by mid 2023," the source further told us.

A big ensemble, including the antagonist, is in the process of being cast for Screw Dheela. Karan Johar's other films in the pipeline include Liger, Brahmastra, Govinda Naam Mera, Mr. Aur Mrs. Mahi and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.

EXCLUSIVE: Kartik Aaryan responds to rumours about his cameo in Luv Ranjan's next starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor: 'It's a big question mark'

Riding high on the mega success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik Aaryan was recently in Europe with his team celebrating the success of the film. While he is back in the bay and immersed in work, he sat down with Bollywood Hungama to talk about the film, what it means to have a blockbuster project and whether he is reuniting with filmmaker Luv Ranjan. He is directing Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in his next directorial which is set for Holi 2023 release.

Interestingly, Kartik Aaryan saw rise in his fame with Luv Ranjan’s 2011 movie Pyaar Ka Punchnama. They then went on to work on several projects including Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Akaash Vani, and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. When said that he is a lucky charm for Luv Ranjan due to which he might do a cameo in his next movie, Kartik responds, "Maine bhi uske baare mein padha question mark ke saath. I'd like to believe I am lucky charm. He has been my lucky charm. We've had a great journey. Main uske baare mein jyada nahi bol sakta. Luv sir se hi uske baare mein pucha jayega toh behtar hoga (I also read about that with question mark. I'd like to believe that I am his lucky charm. He has been my lucky charm. Our journey has been great. I can't say much about the film. It would be better if you ask about him from Luv Sir only."

When prodded further, he adds, "It's a big question mark."

Earlier, reports claimed that Kartik Aaryan may do a cameo in the project and he agreed to it. He has special bond with Luv Ranjan and his special collaboration will also feature Ranbir and Shraddha in the scene.

Talking about his equation with Ranbir, Kartik says, "We've been playing football. It sounds funny ki hum football bahut khelte hai saath mein. Aur filmon ki bhi baat karte hai jab bhi kuch na kuch hota hai. Last time when we met, we were in Abu Dhabi and playing a friendly match. (We've been playing football. It sounds funny that we play football a lot together. And we talk about movies whenever something or the other happens. Last time we met, we were in Abu Dhabi and playing a friendly match)."

With Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 released, Kartik Aaryan has Shehzada, Captain India, Freddy, and Sajid Nadiadwala's untitled next in his line up ahead. He has also signed another film with Sajid Nadiadwala which will be helmed by Kabir Khan.
