Ishwak Singh joins Taapsee Pannu in Kanika Dhillon's Netflix thriller Gandhari

Ishwak Singh, known for his performances in projects like Berlin, Rocket Boys, Adhura, and Paatal Lok, has joined Taapsee Pannu in Netflix’s revenge action thriller Gandhari.

Written and produced by Kanika Dhillon, the film promises an emotionally charged narrative packed with high-stakes drama and gripping action. It is a tale of a mother’s relentless fight to rescue her kidnapped daughter.

Ishwak has established himself in the industry with roles such as the morally upright cop in Paatal Lok and the visionary scientist Vikram Sarabhai in Rocket Boys. In Gandhari, audiences will see him in a new avatar, continuing to build his reputation as a promising actor of his generation.

This marks Ishwak’s first collaboration with Taapsee Pannu. After wrapping up the first leg of shooting in December, the duo has now commenced the second schedule of this ambitious project.

Saif Ali Khan Attack Case: Police detains a suspect but no arrests made as yet

On January 17, a man has been detained in connection with the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, following a thorough review of CCTV footage by the police. On Friday morning, visuals captured the suspect being escorted to the Bandra police station. However, authorities have not yet confirmed if he is the individual who broke into the actor's residence and attacked him the previous night. Furthermore, reports also suggest that no arrests have been made so far for stabbing and trespassing.

Going by the recent reports, the police believed that the suspect changed clothes to evade identification when he last seen near Bandra railway station shortly after the incident. Earlier it was reported, after the accused was spotted on CCTV camera, the police had formed 20 teams to analyse the existing technical data as well as gather their network of informers, to track down the perpetrator. Search operations have also been conducted in Vasai and Nalasopara.

Police suspects that the alleged robber was known to one of Saif’s staff members

Investigators have determined that the intruder entered 'Satguru Sharan,' the 12-story building in Bandra where Saif resides in a four-floor duplex, with the intent to commit burglary. Authorities suspect the intruder had connections with one of the house helps employed by the Khans, enabling him to bypass CCTV cameras in the lobby. Familiarity with the building layout reportedly allowed the assailant to scale an adjacent compound wall and use the fire shaft to reach the upper floors.

More suspicions regarding how the attacker broke into Saif’s house

The break-in, which occurred on the 11th floor, lasted approximately 30 minutes. During this time, Saif, and his younger son Jeh's nanny tried to fend off the attacker but were injured in the process. In a recent CCTV footage shows the intruder descending to the sixth floor via the staircase before escaping. Investigators believe he used the fire shaft to exit the premises, evading capture by avoiding the building's main lobby and entrances.

About Saif Ali Khan’s health

While the nanny sustained minor injuries while attempting to protect the family, Saif himself suffered six wounds during the scuffle. The actor underwent surgery at the Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, suburban Mumbai on January 16, after which, the doctors there confirmed that his condition has been stable.

John Abraham announces new release date of his film The Diplomat; shares social media post

Amid excitement over movies that have been announced and are being anticipated for a while, John Abraham has shared an interesting surprise with fans. The actor-producer has announced his next film after Vedaa, where he will be seen as the power-packed action star yet again. Titled The Diplomat, the film was announced a couple of years ago, in association with the production house T-Series. While it was slated to release last year, the new release date has been locked by the makers, which is on January 17.

While the actor is hardly active on social media, fans were excited to see the actor share a rare post, which was related to his next film The Diplomat. Looking suave in a well-suited avatar in this first look poster, it seems that the film will fall in the lines of his recent geo-political dramas like Madras Cafe, Parmanu, and Batla House. Sharing about it on Instagram, the actor captioned the photo saying, “Honored to bring this story of courage and diplomacy to life.” Inspired by a true story that shook the nation, the film is expected to showcase a gripping tale of power, patriotism.

In the post, the actor also shared the release date i.e. March 7, 2025. Talking more about The Diplomat, John will be stepping into the shoes of a high-ranking government official as he promises to take audiences on an edge-of-the-seat journey filled with intense drama and high-octane moments. Directed by the acclaimed Shivam Nair and written by Ritesh Shah, the film is produced by T-Series, Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar; John Abraham of JA Entertainment; Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl of Wakaoo Films, Sameer Dixit and Jatish Varma of Fortune Pictures, Rakesh Dang of Seeta Films.

Apart from this, John Abraham also has the film Tehran in the pipeline where he will be sharing screen space with Manushi Chhillar.

Kartik Aaryan reveals his relationship status: “Main single hun….Sau takka”

Nikkhil Advani rules out Kal Ho Naa Ho sequel; says, “Shah Rukh Khan embodies…. Not a single person can do it”

Nikkhil Advani’s beloved film Kal Ho Naa Ho was re-released in theatres last year, allowing fans to experience the charm of Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta once again. The movie's overwhelming reception sparked speculation and excitement about a potential sequel. Nikkhil Advani recently discussed this possibility in a conversation with Mukesh Chhabra for Mashable.

When asked about recasting Kal Ho Naa Ho, Nikkhil Advani firmly stated, “You can’t make a new cast. Why would you want to? Shah Rukh is Shah Rukh. It doesn’t matter if they still look the same… Shah Rukh Khan embodies…. Not a single person can do it.”

The filmmaker also confirmed that a sequel is not being planned and expressed his belief that Kal Ho Naa Ho 2 should not be made. He explained, “Kyu karoge aap? Log aake mujhe bol rahe hain make a part two. Abhi it re-released right? Films I’ve done… Kal Ho Naa Ho re-released, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham re-released, Karan Arjun re-released. This is incredible, aisa hota nahi hai."

Kal Ho Naa Ho premiered on November 28, 2003. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta, Jaya Bachchan, Sushma Seth, Reema Lagoo, and others. Produced by Yash Johar under the Dharma Productions banner, the film’s music was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

It has been years since Kal Ho Naa Ho first hit theatres, but it was recently re-released on a limited number of screens across the country. Fans filled the theatres, sharing clips and videos of the film's iconic scenes and tracks. The romantic drama was both a critical success and a box-office hit when it originally released.

While fans won’t see Shah Rukh Khan in a Kal Ho Naa Ho sequel, he will soon star in King, where he is set to play a mafia boss. Reports suggest that his daughter, Suhana Khan, will feature as the parallel lead, with Shah Rukh's character serving as a mentor to Suhana's character.
