Adam Deacon to star and direct action comedy Sumotherhood; cast includes Ed Sheeran, Jennifer Saunders, Danny Sapani

English actor and director Adam Deacon is returning to filmmaking with British urban action comedy titled Sumotherhood which is now about to start production in London. Ed Sheeran, whose growing acting stints have included Game of Thrones and Yesterday, has been added to the cast alongside Danny Sapani of Black Panther, Absolutely Fabulous star Jennifer Saunders, Peter Serafinowicz of The Tick, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show’s Leomie Anderson, London Hughes, Kevin Bishop, Kidulthood star Jaime Winstone, Vas Blackwood and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (a Lawrence Olivier award best actor winner for Tina Turner The Musical).

They join the already announced cast of Deacon, Jazzie Zonzolo, Richie Campbell and comedian Eddie Kadi, while there are expected to be various additional cameos from the world of acting, comedy and music, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Alongside the on-screen talent, Sumotherhood has also secured the services of Simon Stolland of Blue Story as cinematographer. Written by Deacon, Zonzolo and Michael Vu, the film marks actor-writer-director Deacon’s comeback to filmmaking after several years away from the industry, and over a decade since his 2011 directorial debut Anuvahood (on which he collaborated with Vu).

Sumotherhood — which will shoot in Hackney and East London through February and March — is produced by BIFA-nominated producer Finn Bruce. BAFTA Breakthrough casting director Heather Basten has cast the film alongside Bishop, Deacon and the producing team.

Benedict Cumberbatch, Laura Dern, Noah Jupe to star in Justin Kurzel's sci-fi film Morning

The A-list projects are gathering ahead of the virtual European Film Market. The upcoming sci-fi film Morning will see Justin Kurzel in the director’s seat with big name actors attached to star. This latest big-league film will see Oscar and BAFTA winner Big Little Lies actress Laura Dern and Noah Jupe. Oscar nominee, BAFTA winner and The Power of the Dog star Benedict Cumberbatch will also star in a supporting role, while he also executive produces alongside Dern.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Morning is set in a near future where society has a pill that does away with the need to sleep. With the added help of an artificial sun, there is finally no end to morning daylight, living and work. But as a young generation grows up deprived of the world of sleep, is it time for them to rebel and reclaim their dreams?

Morning was written by Manchester-born writer Sam Steiner whose screenplay was picked up by Cumberbatch and Adam Ackland’s SunnyMarch. SunnyMarch’s head of film, Leah Clarke, is producing alongside Ackland. Cumberbatch will executive produce alongside Dern and Jayme Lemons. The film will reunite Kurzel with several of his previous collaborators including Emmy Award-winning cinematographer Adam Arkapaw and BAFTA Award nominated costume designer Alice Babidge.

Justin Kurzel’s most recent feature film Nitram was nominated for the Palme d’Or and lead actor Caleb Landry Jones won the Best Actor award at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. In addition to Morning, Steiner’s current projects include horror film Banquet, to be directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia.

BREAKING: Kangana Ranaut to host Ekta Kapoor's new fearless reality show

The Bigg Boss fever has just ended and post the results were announced, there was a huge outrage on social media regarding the winner. Without wasting any time, TV czarina Ekta Kapoor announced a reality show of her own. Calling it the most fearless reality show ever, the formal announcement is expected later today.

The entire space is bugged with cameras and there will be tasks and dares given to contestants. It's a 24x7 live show, that will stream on Alt Balaji & MX Player."

Actor Arjun Kapoor has treated himself to a brand new ride. He has become the proud owner of a Ducati Scrambler and took to his Instagram on Sunday evening to share pictures of his 'new friend'

Arjun took to his Instagram handle to share a series of monochrome pictures of him posing with his swanky new ride. Sharing the pictures, Arjun wrote, "Swipe right to meet my new friend. I usually try & meet her over the weekend".

Arjun's new machine which is a Ducati Scrambler is priced at around Rs. 13 lakh on road. It is powered by an 803cc, air-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that churns out 71.87bhp of power and 66.2Nm of peak torque.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Arjun was last seen in the film Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar and the actor received a lot of praise for his performance in the critically acclaimed film which also starred Parineeti Chopra. He will next be seen in the film Ek Villain Returns alongside Disha Patani, Tara Sutaria, and John Abraham. He will also be seen in the film titled The Ladykiller.

Lata Mangeshkar’s health improves marginally; removed from ventilator

Earlier this month, singer Lata Mangeshkar was hospitalised in Mumbai's Breach Candy after she tested positive for COVID-19. The legendary singer has been in the ICU ever since and according to the regular health updates from her team, she seems to be getting better by the day. According to the latest update, the 92-year-old singer has been showing signs of marginal improvement and has been removed from the ventilator.

A health update of Lata Mangeshkar released on January 27 read, "Lata didi continues to be in the ICU at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai under treatment. She has been given a TRIAL of extubation (off the invasive Ventilator) this morning. Presently, she is showing signs of improvement but will remain under observation of the team of doctors headed by Dr Pratit Samdani. We thank each one of you for your prayers and good wishes."

A couple of days back it was being reported that the veteran singer's heath was deteriorating. Responding to the same, the spokesperson had clarified, "It is disturbing to see false news being circulated. Please note that Lata didi is stable. Continues to be in ICU under treatment of able doctors. Please pray for her quick return home."

Scam 1992's Pratik Gandhi signs new OTT web series

Actor Pratik Gandhi, who rose to fame after his web series Scam 1992, gained immense success. The web series received a lot of accolades from the audiences as well as critics alike. Pratik too received a lot of appreciation for his performance. Now, it is learnt that after the success of Scam 1992, the actor has signed another big-scale web series for the streaming giant Netflix.

As per a report by a web portal, the show has been titled For Your Eyes Only and will see Gandhi playing the role of an intelligence officer. While Sumit Purohit, the writer of Scam 1992-The Harshad Mehta Story will step in to helm the series. While Bombay Fables Motion Pictures is producing this espionage drama series which is set in the 70s and will be shot around three countries. The series is expected to go on floors by June this year.

Apart from that, Pratik Gandhi will also appear in The Great Indian Murder alongside Richa Chadha. The series is based on Vikas Swarup’s bestselling novel ‘Six Suspects’. The web series is helmed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and produced by Ajay Devgn and Priti Vinay Sinha.

Mastram's producers to make a multi-season web series on the Tata Family

Ratan Tata has been in the news since a few days after his company, Tata Group, was handed over the reins of the Air India airline from the government. Bollywood Hungama has now learnt that the life story of this much-loved businessman and that of the Tata family is all set to be documented in an upcoming web series.

Almighty Motion Picture, the production house that backed the very successful erotic show, Mastram (2020), has purchased the rights of the book ‘The Tatas: How A Family Built A Business and A Nation’, written by the noted journalist Girish Kuber. Prabhleen Kaur Sandhu, who heads Almighty Motion Picture, has confirmed to a business daily that they indeed have the rights to the acclaimed book and that they plan to make at least three seasons. She also added that the show will not only throw light on Ratan Tata but also his ancestors.

While the writing and research have begun, the casting will be done only after the script is locked. However, sources claim that the makers are looking at prominent names to play the role of Ratan Tata and others in the Tata family. “The whole country is in awe of the contribution of Tatas in building our nation. It’s one show that everyone will like to see. Hence, it has huge potential and the makers want to sign big but talented names, as it can enhance the hype around the show,” said a source. The filming is expected to begin in 2022-end.

The book ‘The Tatas: How A Family Built A Business and A Nation’ begins with the story of Nusserwanji Tata, who was born in a priestly household in 1822 in Navsari, Gujarat. He headed to Bombay and started a cotton trading business. His son, Jamsetji Tata, grew into a very successful business and one of his many achievements was starting the iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai. How the others from the Tata family, like Dorabji Tata, JRD Tata, Ratan Tata etc, carried forward the empire and made it such a huge success forms the crux of the book.

Shah Rukh Khan’s next production Love Hostel to release on Zee5 on February 18

In December 2021, Red Chillies Entertainment, the production house run by superstar Shah Rukh Khan, released Bob Biswas on the digital platform, Zee5. Starring Abhishek Bachchan and Chitrangda Singh, this Diya Annapurna Ghosh directed thriller got a fine response. And now, the reputed production house is looking forward to releasing their next film, which is also a thriller, titled Love Hostel. Yesterday, reports emerged that like Bob Biswas, Love Hostel would also skip a theatrical release and premiere directly on Zee5.

We have now learnt about the release date of the film. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Love Hostel would be released on Zee5 on February 18, 2022. The trailer will be released in the first week of February. It’ll be a compact but effective promotional campaign that the makers plan to embark upon. In the times of new normal, a 2-3 week time period is enough to generate awareness and excitement for the film. And both Red Chillies and Zee5 are confident that their film will build up a lot of hype thanks to the casting and exciting content.”

Love Hostel is directed by Shanker Raman of Gurgaon (2017) fame and stars Vikrant Massey, Bobby Deol and Sanya Malhotra. The source continued, “Love Hostel releases a week before Sanya Malhotra’s birthday, which falls on February 25. She’s looking forward to celebrating her big day with gusto as by then, the response to the film and her performance would be out.”

In November 2020, Sanya Malhotra had admitted that she was excited to be working in a film produced by the superstar. She had said, “I’m a huge Shah Rukh (Khan) fan and he is producing it. I still can’t believe I’m in an SRK film! I’m so grateful.” Reportedly, she has bagged another Red Chillies film – Atlee’s next that features Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role.

Besides Red Chillies Entertainment, Love Hostel is also co-produced by Manish Mundra’s Drishyam Films. This marks the second collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan and Manish Mundra’s banner after the much appreciated Kaamyaab (2020).

The much awaited Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was finally going to arrive in cinemas on February 18, 2022. Sadly, due to the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, all the films scheduled to release in January were indefinitely postponed. Expecting a domino effect, the trade and industry feared that Gangubai Kathiawadi’s release might be deferred by a few weeks or even months. However, today, the makers of the film pleasantly surprised everyone by announcing that the film would release in February itself, but on February 25. Coincidentally, now, the film would arrive on the big screen a day after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 59th birthday.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali was born on February 24, 1963. Gangubai Kathiawadi is his tenth film and also the second film after Black (2005) to release in his birthday month. Black, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji, was not a huge commercial success but received immense critical acclaim, including three National Awards. It now remains to be seen if Gangubai Kathiawadi also turns out to be not just a critical hit but also a huge commercial hit for the acclaimed filmmaker.

In 2015, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had revealed that he doesn’t believe in celebrating birthdays. To quote SLB, “As children, my sister and I had no birthday parties. We would take a packet of sweets to school and distribute it to our classmates. That was it. We never had birthday parties. Nor were we allowed to go to parties. Now, it has become a habit to be on my own on my birthday. And I am very happy that way.”

Nevertheless, last year, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had an intimate gathering on his birthday. The picture of him posing with Alia Bhatt, who looked splendid in a white dress, had gone viral. In 2013, in a rare instance, he cut a cake on his birthday along with the star cast of his TV show, ‘Saraswatichandra’. In 2018, there were reports that the success bash of his blockbuster film, Padmaavat, and his birthday would be celebrated in the ocean in a liner. However, reportedly, the party didn’t happen as Bhansali declined the invitation, citing seasickness.

It now remains to be seen how Sanjay Leela Bhansali shall celebrate his birthday this year. An industry insider said, “It’ll be a busy birthday for sure as it’s held a day before the grand release of his big film. He’ll be making sure the release is happening as per schedule. If a press show of Gangubai Kathiawadi is held on February 24, he’ll also be checking with his team how the media has reacted to his labour of love. Hopefully, once Gangubai Kathiawadi opens well and gets good word of mouth, he can blow the candles on the cake and pop the champagne.”

Gangubai Kathiawadi is adapted from a chapter of S Hussain Zaidi's book, 'Mafia Queens Of Mumbai', and is about a woman who rises to become a powerful underworld figure in Mumbai. Before its worldwide theatrical release on February 25, it’ll have a grand world premiere at the prestigious 72nd Berlin International Film Festival, which will be held between February 10 to February 20, 2022.

It's official. Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much awaited Gangubai Kathiawadi is all set to release on theatres on February 25, 2022. The announcement for the same was made on Friday, January 28.

The makers took to social media to make the announcement. The film is all set to have its much awaited world premiere at the prestigious 72nd Berlin International Film Festival.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Netflix bring in intimacy director to supervise the love-making scenes in Heeramandi

It seems that after Amazon Prime Video’s eagerly awaited Gehraiyaan a special director to specially supervise love-making scenes may become the order of the day. One now hears that an intimacy director would be very much a part of the crew on-board for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi.

A well-placed source confirms, “There are quite a few intimate scenes in Heeramandi. Bhansali and Netflix have decided to bring in a special female director to oversee the love-making scenes.”

The source goes on to reveal that post the Pandemic physical proximity is getting even tougher than before on camera. No two co-stars are willing to touch one another. Given the scenario of social distancing, doing intimate scenes would be even trickier than before. This is where the intimacy director comes in.

Raataan Lambiyan: Coming in second was the track ‘Raataan Lambiyaan’ on Sony Music from the film Shershaah. Featuring the lead actors, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, the track fast became a rage. Penned by Tanishk Bagchi, with Jubin Nautiyal and Asees Kaur on vocals, the track fast took on a life of its own post release.

Baarish Ban Jaana: Another single to make it to the top is VYRL Originals’ ‘Baarish Ban Jaana’ sung by Payal Dev & Stebin Ben the track brings together televisions most adored stars - Hina Khan and Shaheer Sheikh. Composed by Payal Dev, and written by Kunaal Vermaa the said music video was shot by Aditya Datt in Kashmir.

Thoda Thoda Pyaar: Yet another single making it to the Top 5 is Zee Music Company’s ‘Thoda Thoda Pyaar’, sung by Stebin Ben with lyrics from Kumaar the single featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Neha Sharma was compose by Nilesh Ahuja.

Dil Galti Kar Baitha Hai: The fourth single to make it into the Top 5 is T-Series’ ‘Dil Galti Kar Baitha Hai’. The track sung by Jubin Nautiyal, with sufi vocals by Danish Sabri, and music by Meet Bros features lyrics by Manoj Muntashir. As for the video, featuring Jubin Nautiyal and Mouni Roy, it is directed by Ashish Panda.

Interestingly, in the Top 5 track of 2021, four have turned out to be singles, with T-Series featuring two songs in the list.

Filhaal 2 Mohabbat: Akshay Kumar, Nupur Sanon and Ammy Virk return for another single directed by Arvindr Khaira. With B Praak on vocals the DM song features lyrics by ace lyricist Jaani.

Is Qadar: Tulsi Kumar and Darshan Raval’s romantic song ‘Is Qadar’ makes it to number 7 on the list. Directed by directed by Sachet-Parampara, with lyrics by Sayeed Quadri, the T-Series track is directed by Arvindr Khaira.

Baarish Ki Jaaye: Apparently based on a true story is DM music’s single ‘Baarish Ki Jaaye’. Featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sunandha Sharma with B Praak on vocals and Jaani on lyrics and composition, the rack take the 8^th spot.

Ranjha: Yet another film track making it the list of Top 10 is ‘Ranjha’ once again from the Sidharth Malhotra – Kiara Advani starrer Shershaah. Sung by B Praak and Jasleen Royal, and composed by Jasleen Royal. The T-Series’ song is penned by Anvita Dutt.

Paani Paani: Taking the 10^th spot on the list is Saregama Music's Badshah dute with Aastha Gill ‘Paani Paani’ featuring Jacqueline Fernandez along with the vocalists in the video, the track fast became a rage.

Like the Top 5, the Top 10 list also includes mostly singles T-Series and DM featuring two tracks each in the bottom 5.

She is also under-exposed as a face because she has been extremely choosy about the films that she does. This is also helping her equity because brands are seeing her as someone who isn’t typecast or selling way too many brands.”

The actress currently has brands like Carysil Kitchen Equipments, Brillare Hair Oil, Streax Hair colour, Mango, Zeya by Kundan, St. Botanica and a few more brands yet to be announced. According to the grapevine, “Vaani Kapoor charges between Rs. 35-40 lakhs a day for brand endorsement. Considering, the number of brands she has under her, the whopping amount is approx Rs. 4-5 crore.”

On the work front, Vaani Kapoor will next star in Yash Raj Films’ Shamshera alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt.

SCOOP: John Abraham-starrer Attack expected to release on February 25

In September 2021, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report that the John Abraham-starrer Attack will release around Republic Day 2022. Sadly, due to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant, the country was swept by the third wave of Covid-19. As a result, all the films scheduled for release in December-end and January 2022 were indefinitely postponed. This included not just Attack but also movies like Jersey, RRR, Radhe Shyam and Prithviraj.

Bollywood Hungama has now learnt of the new release date of Attack. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The makers are looking at releasing the film on February 25, 2022. However, it’ll be subject to cinemas opening up in Delhi and the big centers of Haryana and night curfew being lifted in most of the significant states.”

The source continued, “It is pretty evident that now the third wave has been milder and shorter than the previous two waves. The rate of hospitalization has been very low and now, cases are steadily declining in most major cities. As a result, it is expected that in February, most of the states would ease restrictions. The makers of Attack feel February 25 would be an ideal time to release as by then, night curfew would have been a thing of the past and hopefully, most states would be operating at 100% occupancy. The teaser has got a good response and the trade feels that it has a chance to work at the box office, especially in mass markets.”

An industry insider, meanwhile, stated, “The Rajkummar Rao-Bhumi Pednekar starrer Badhaai Do will release on February 11 and it’ll kickstart the process of films releasing once again in cinemas. One should expect a couple of more films to release in February besides Attack and Badhaai Do. So the makers of Attack would also keep in mind this factor while deciding the release date. A clearer picture will emerge before the end of January as by then, the easing of rules for the month of February would be out for the various states.”

The insider added, “The month of March, too, would see several releases.”

Besides John Abraham, Attack also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh.

Filmmaker Suneel Darshan files copyright infringement case against Google CEO Sundar Pichai and others for his film Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha

Filmmaker Suneel Darshan, who is known for films such as Inteqam and Andaaz, has filed an FIR against the search engine giant Google, its CEO Sundar Pichai and several other employees of the corporation, alleging an infringement of the copyright of his 2017 directorial Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha on YouTube.

According to several reports, the director has claimed that though he had not uploaded the movie anywhere, nor sold it to anyone, several channels on YouTube are profiteering off it and Google has refused to take the movie off those channels. His FIR, filed with the MIDC Police Station at Andheri East, alleges infringement of Sections 51, 63 and 69 of the Copyright Act of 1957.

Sharing the information, Darshan told a print publication that his faith and belief in the advancement of technology are implicit, but the infringement of his rights is a cause of grave concern. He added that his entire copyrighted movie, apart from its songs and sequences from it, have been uploaded and monetised, and he had to helplessly watch such illegal acts.

Darshan clarified that it was only after his repeated requests went unanswered that he had to seek legal help. Maintaining that he had the utmost respect for Google, he, however, said the corporation had been unfair to genuine creators. Darshan said that he has total respect for both the technology and the funds that they (Google) bring to India but added that the corporation's reluctance to work with experienced content creators and benefiting from their knowledge had only led to mutual loss, and denied quality content to the audience.

As for his next step, Suneel Darshan stated that he will move according to the law and the advice of his lawyers.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ series ordered at Disney+; casting underway

Percy Jackson and the Olympians series has officially been picked up at Disney+. The series adaptation of the Rick Riordan book series was first reported as being in the works at the streamer back in May 2020. The casting is currently underway. The series pickup news was announced by Rick Riordan in a video message.

According to Variety, the live-action Percy Jackson series tells the fantastical story of the titular 12-year-old modern demigod, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. Now, Percy must trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus.

Percy Jackson book series is comprised of The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan’sCurse, The Battle of the Labyrinth, and The Last Olympian. Riordan has also published the companion book The Demigod Files as well as The Demigod Diaries.

Both Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters were previously adapted into feature films. Logan Lerman starred as Jackson. The first filmed was released in 2010 while the second was released in 2013. The two films received mixed reviews from critics but grossed over $425 million combined worldwide.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be directed by James Bobin. Jon Steinberg will be writing the pilot with Rioodan. Steinberg is currently under an overall deal with Disney’s 20th Television, while Bobin recently directed and executive produced Disney Plus’ Mysterious Benedict Society series and the film Dora and the Lost City of Gold.

Steinberg and his producing partner Dan Shotz serve as executive producers alongside Bobin, Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe, and Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, D.J. Goldberg. 20th Television is the studio. Salke was formerly the president of Touchstone Television and originally put the show into development.

Shehnaaz Gill shares Sidharth Shukla's family statement urging to not announce projects in late actor's name without permisison

Last year, Balika Vadhu actor Sidharth Shukla passed away. His untimely death caused a huge stir. Now, his family issued a statement for the late actor, urging everyone to consult with them before announcing any projects using Shukla's name. Sidharth Shukla's close friend and actor Shehnaaz Gill shared the statement on Tuesday.

"We, as a family, come with a request, which we hope everyone will respect. Sidharth has moved on and no longer can he make decisions for himself, but he's still an integral part of our lives and our memories and we are there to protect his wishes. We request everyone who wants to use Sidharth's name and/or face in any project, please reach out to us. Please take a moment to ask us," read the statement.

"We knew Sidharth's choices, we knew what he would have wanted and our decisions for him would be keeping all this in mind. And if there were projects that he wasn't happy with, we are sure he wouldn't want them released. Anything that did not release when he was with us, did not have his consent or intent for release," continued the statement.

"So please let's keep his wishes in mind and let's remember him with love, with respect, with fond memories, the ones he left us with," the statement concluded.

Meanwhile, Shehnaaz Gill will pay tribute to Sidharth Shukla on Bigg Boss 15 finale episode. In the latest promo released of the reality show, the makers have revealed that Shehnaaz will grace the finale and will be paying tribute to Sidharth Shukla. Sidharth and Shehnaaz, fondly known as SidNaaz, were one of the most popular contestants on Bigg Boss 13. Sidharth succeeded in the 13th edition of Bigg Boss as the winner.

Chris Evans to star with Dwayne Johnson in Jake Kasdan's Red One for Amazon Studios

Hollywood actor Chris Evans is all set to star alongside Dwayne Johnson in the holiday event film Red One for Amazon Studios. Though plot details on Red Oneare not available but the movie is said to be based on an original story from Hiram Garcia, president of production at Seven Bucks.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film, which Amazon Studios outbid other suitors for, is billed as an action-adventure comedy that imagines a new universe for the holiday genre. Hiram Garcia, Dany Garcia, Johnson and Morgan will share producer credits.

Meanwhile, Jake Kasdan will direct the film and also produce via his production company, The Detective Agency, alongside Melvin Mar and co-producer Sky Salem Robinson. The script will be penned by Chris Morgan. Red One will also reunite Kasdan, Dwayne Johnson and Seven Bucks Productions after their collaboration on Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level; those two films have earned a combined $1.7 billion at the worldwide box office.

On the work front, Chris Evans will next be seen in the Russo brothers’ The Gray Man for Netflix and is voicing the role of Buzz Lightyear in Lightyear for Pixar. He is also developing an untitled Gene Kelly project, which he will star in and produce, and is set to star in the upcoming Apple feature Ghosted.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas spent months renovating their $20 million Los Angeles home in preparation for their first child

Power couple, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, has been prepping their L.A. home accordingly ahead of the arrival of their baby. But, their first child, a baby girl, was born 12 weeks early. The pair, who welcomed their first baby, via surrogate on January 15, was already thinking of growing their family when they purchased their Encino, California mansion together in 2019.

According to People publication, “They had children in mind when they bought the house together. They wanted to start a family and needed a home with a lot of greenery and outdoor space.” The couple, who married in 2018, "spent months refurbishing the house" after they moved in, according to the source. They explain, "They wanted to make it more family-friendly."

The enormous property, which they purchased for $20 million, set records as the most expensive home ever sold in Encino, a San Fernando Valley suburb.

On Friday, the couple made the arrival of their baby’s announcement on social media. "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family," Chopra and Jonas wrote in joint statement on their respective Instagram accounts.

Alia Bhatt considers her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi her best to date. A source from Bhansali Production reveals, “Alia is very proud of her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. She has pushed herself harder on this one than on any other project to date.

“There are two sequences in the film where she has to pull out all stops, on a par with Shabana Azmi’s breakdown at the end of Shyam Benegal’s Ankur. Alia performed them without the help of glycerine. The tears just flowed nonstop even after the shots were over”, says a source.

Director Bhansali is already comparing Alia’s performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi to Shabana Azmi’s powerhouse performance in Mahesh Bhatt’s Arth. Bollywood actress Bhagyashree's daughter Avantika Dassani will also be following the footsteps of her mother and brother Abhimanyu Dassani. Following her brother's debut with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, Avantika will now step into the industry with Rohan Sippy’s psychological thriller. The project also stars Huma Qureshi and Parambrata Chattopadhyay.

According to a report in a daily, Applause Entertainment is backrolling an upcoming series and the project is already on floors in Mumbai. The shoot reportedly began in November of last year. Avantika Dassani is essaying a complex character with a strong influence on the storyline. The project will debut on a leading digital platform later this year.

Rohan Sippy recently was the showrunner of Raveena Tandon and Parambrata Chattopadhyay-starrer mystery thriller Aaranyak which premiered on Netflix.

Adele tearfully announces postponement of Las Vegas Residency due to crew members testing Covid-19 positive

Singer-songwriter Adele has rescheduled her Las Vegas residency that was set to kick off January 21. In a video shared on her social media channels on Thursday, the day before the residency was due to start, the singer tearfully announced the news.

In the video posted on Twitter, Adele explained that due to delivery delays and crew members testing positive for COVID-19, plans for the show have been disrupted. “I’m so sorry but my show ain’t ready,” the singer said. “We’ve tried absolutely everything that we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID. Half my crew, half my team are down with COVID, they still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show. And I can’t give you what I have right now and I’m gutted. I’m gutted and I’m sorry it’s so last minute.”

She went on to explain that she and her team have “been awake for 30 hours” trying to sort everything out but have “run out of time.” She continued while fighting back tears, “I’m so upset and I’m really embarrassed and I’m so sorry to everyone that traveled again. I’m really, really sorry.”

Adele confirmed that the dates will be rescheduled and in the meantime, she’s going to work on getting the show “to where it’s supposed to be,” adding, “I’m so sorry. It’s been impossible, we’ve been up against so much and it just ain’t ready.”

Adele’s Las Vegas residency was announced in November with the singer set to have a four-month-long exclusive residency, titled “Weekends With Adele,” at the Colosseum venue in Caesars Palace Hotel. The shows were originally to kick off January 21 and set to take place most Fridays and Saturdays until April 16.

The residency follows the singer’s release of her latest, much anticipated fourth studio album 30. Following its release, the album debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and became the top-selling album of 2021, according to Billboard.

Remo D’Souza’s brother-in-law found dead at his residence

Filmmaker-choreographer Remo D'Souza's brother-in-law Jason Watkins was found dead at his Mumbai residence on Thursday. It is being alleged that he died by suicide and was found hanging by his father after he returned home. Remo and his wife Lizelle were in Goa at the time of the incident.

Reportedly, the officials said that Watkins was facing some health issues which may have driven him to take such extreme measures. However, no suicide note has been derived from the house.

Remo took to his Instagram feed to share a picture with Jason and wrote, "You broke our hearts brother, hope you finally found Peace. REST IN PEACE”. Jason worked as an assistant director on all the projects helmed by Remo and has been a part of the industry for quite a few years.

Meanwhile, Lizelle took to her Instagram stories and shared a childhood picture with her brother and Jason, and wrote, "Why". She also shared a picture of Jason and their mother and wrote, "Am sorry Mum, I failed you". Lizelle's mother had passed away four years ago and reportedly, Jason had not come to terms with the same.
