Kangana Ranaut says she rejected Khan-led and Kumar-led films to focus on female-centric movies

Kangana Ranaut will next star in actioner Dhaakad. The trailer was launched on Friday. The actress spoke about taking on action-packed roles and even took digs at some of the big names in the industry including the Khans and Kumar.

During the trailer launch of Dhaakad, Kangana said that she has reached a stage in her career where she can take big risks and refuse A-lister films. Kangana said, "I have my own fair share of low points when I refused a lot of male-centric films. A Khan lead film or Kumar lead film or all kinds of big hero films, and everyone looked at me like 'why am I wasting my life.' But when you have a vision for your future, and nobody else does, they think that there is something wrong with the person."

Kangana further talked about receiving calls on rejecting calls and attending award functions. She said, "I used to be amazed at them thinking that why do think that I'm wasting my life. I have come here so far, and it wasn't accidental. I always thought that I also deserve as much anybody else, and why should I think of myself as a lesser being. Ranaut further added, "I always have this vision that this day is possible. I did not plan it, but I have the vision. I can't execute it alone, you need a producer like Deepak (Mukut) ji, a director like Razy (Razneesh Ghai), it is a collective effort of teamwork."

The Queen star says, "The world is ready for women to take the lead."

Kangana Ranaut's much-awaited actioner Dhaakad trailer is out. The film stars Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta. The film is releasing on May 20, 2022.

The biopic will be based on the experiences of his accomplished career and will be mentored by the ace filmmaker, Rohit Shetty himself.

Rakesh Maria, an IPS officer, cleared his Civil Service Examination from the 1981 batch. As Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) in 1993, he cracked the Bombay serial blasts case, and later moved to DCP (Crime) and then Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), of the Mumbai Police. Maria solved the 2003 Gateway of India and Zaveri Bazaar twin blasts case. Maria was also given the responsibility of investigating the 26/11 Mumbai attacks in 2008 and interrogated Ajmal Kasab, the only terrorist captured alive, and successfully investigated the case.

Rakesh Maria commented, “It is exciting to re-live the journey, especially when piloted by a brilliant director like Rohit Shetty. More than the nostalgia, it’s also a valuable opportunity to place before the people the extraordinary work of the Mumbai Police when facing tough challenges and working against all odds.”

Pop singer Taz from Stereo Nation passes away at 54

Pop singer Tz from Stereo Nation passed away at the age of 54 on April 29, 2022. The singer, who was reportedly suffering from Hernia, was due to have surgery two years ago for the same but it was postponed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

As his health deteriorated, Taz was reportedly in a coma. In early March 2022, he was out of a coma and showed signs of improvement. His family had even released a statement at the time and thanked everyone for well-wishes.

Real name, Tarsem Singh Saini, Taz also gad Johnny Zee as a stage name. He shot to fame in 1989 with his album Hit The Deck. Some of his popular hits include 'Pyar Ho Gaya', 'Nachenge Saari Raat', and 'Gallan Gorian'.

The first song has also been released over three months before the scheduled theatrical release of the film on August 11.

Laal Singh Chaddha is the official adaptation of the Hollywood film Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan. Directed by Advait Chandan, the film will trace the history of India through the eyes of the protagonist.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma to kick off Sujoy Ghosh's The Devotion of Suspect X in Darjeeling

Back in March 2022, Netflix announced that Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma were coming together to star in Sujoy Ghosh's untitled film. It is a screen adaptation of one of Keigo Higashino’s most acclaimed works, "The Devotion of Suspect X". Now, the makers plan to kick off the first schedule in Darjeeling next week.

In the first week of May, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma will head to Darjeeling to film key scenes at the hill station. A daily reports that a part of the production unit will erect a set in Mumbai's Mehboob Studios. The schedule for the same will begin in May end.

The film is produced by 12th Street Entertainment, Northern Lights Films in association with Boundscript and Kross Pictures and marks Kareena Kapoor Khan’s streaming debut. Sujoy Ghosh will be producing the film along with Jay Shewakramani, Akshai Puri, and Thomas Kim.

Salman Khan is ready for his next film. After releasing Antim - The Final Truth last year and wrapping up Tiger 3, the actor will soon kick off Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali at ND Studios in Karjat. The film stars him alongside Pooja Hegde and is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film also stars Aayush Sharma and Zaheer Iqbal, playing the roles of Salman's brothers. Reportedly, Venkatesh will also be starring in the film.

As per a report in a daily, Salman Khan will be kicking off a long marathon schedule in Karjat. The makers have chalked out a 90-day schedule and the actor will be stationed there until the shoot is completed. They also have two foreign schedules which will be finalised in the coming weeks. Salman Khan does not want to lose out on any days so that film releases on New Year's Eve.

Furthermore, it was reported that Anal Arasu will be choreographing the action scenes; Brahmastra cinematographer V Manikanda is on board as well. Since the film is a cross-cultural love story, actors from North and South will be part of the cast including veteran actor Venkatesh. The actor has also brought big names on board including music composer Devi Sri Prasad and cinematographer V Manikandan.

Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali will release on December 30, 2022, a few days after Salman Khan's birthday and welcoming New Year.

Kangana Ranaut's reality show Lock Upp: Badass Jail Atyaachaari Khel is slowly reaching its final stage. Recently, Indian Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui spoke to her about a traumatic incident recalling facing sexual harassment as a child.

Munawar recalled the incident from his childhood, “Maine yeh cheezein kabhi kisise share nahi kari kyunki (I’ve never shared it with anyone because) I have to face them. I was a 6-year-old.. yeh aisa tha ki (it was such that)..bahut close family hoti hai aur kabhi kabhi (there’s close family and sometimes)…” Saisha Shinde was left in tears, and Prince Narula later hugged him.

“Mujhe us waqt nahi samajh aata tha aur 4-5 saal tak woh continuously chalta raha…chauthe saal woh cheezein ek baar bahut extreme hogai (I didn’t understand then and it continued for four-five years. It turned extreme in the fourth year).” The contestants were left in tears and gathered around to hug him.

Kangana empathised with his story and said, "So many kids go through this every year but we avoid talking about it on public platforms. All of us go through this, all of us have been inappropriately touched at some point. I have faced this. I was a child and a young boy from our town used to inappropriately touch me. At the time, I did not know what it meant, no matter how protective your family is, all kids go through this."

She added, "Another point is that you are made to feel guilty for it. This is a huge crisis for kids in our society. To tell them the difference between good and bad touch may not be enough. It becomes such a huge crisis. Kids are psychologically traumatised and scarred for life. They face endless troubles in life. This guy was three to four years elder than me, perhaps he was exploring his sexuality. He would call us, get us all to strip and check us. We would not understand it at the time. There is a huge stigma behind this, especially for men. It is very brave of you, Munawar, that you chose this platform to share your experience."

Anupam Kher meets Prime Minister Narendra Modi; gifts rudraksh mala sent by his mother

Actor Anupam Kher recently met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and posted pictures from their meeting on his social media handle. The senior actor also presented Modi with a gift. He gifted the PM a rudraksha mala (prayer beads) sent by his mother Dulari.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Anupam wrote in Hindi, "Respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was a great pleasure to meet you. The hard work you are doing day and night for countrymen is inspiring! I will always remember the reverence with which you accepted the rudraksh mala sent by my mother to protect you. Jai Ho. Last month, Modi had praised the film The Kashmir Files in which Anupam Kher was the lead actor. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film is based on the Kashmiri Pandit exodus that happened in the 1990s. The film broke records at the box office.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Anupam Kher will soon essay the role of the protagonist's father-in-law in the ABC comedy pilot The Son in Law and star alongside Reema Sampat, Chris Sullivan, and Meera Simhan as one of the leads. Hollywood actor Johnny Depp concluded his third day of testimony in Fairfax, Virginia courtroom for his $50 million defamation trial against his former wife Amber Heard. In the courtroom, much of the afternoon was devoted to the reading of graphic text messages sent by Depp, and the airing of audio and video of his angry outbursts and confrontations with Heard, revealed under cross-examination conducted by Heard's lawyer Ben Rottenborn on Thursday morning,

Evidence of text messages from Depp to some of his friends, including Marilyn Manson and actor Paul Bettany, also surfaced that referenced his drug use during the time he was in a relationship with Heard. Deadline reports, as one audio clip ran near the end of the day’s proceedings, Depp, on the witness stand, wiped his eyes with his hand before grabbing a tissue. The audio was from July, 2016, after the couple filed for divorce and Heard sought a restraining order against him.

Depp looked down at a computer screen as the audio was played. “Where do you want the scar?” Depp says. Heard pleads with him, “Don’t cut your skin. Please do not cut your skin. Why would I do that. Please do not do that. Please don’t cut yourself.” Heard’s attorneys unleashed a barrage of messages throughout the day to try to show that Depp used violent language in texts with his wife. Before some exchanges were read in court, Depp said he "wasn't proud of any of the language" that he used in the text messages.

In one, read by Heard’s attorney, Depp wrote, “The only reason we go for the throat is love.” Heard wrote back, “My throat is yours. You’re going to be the death of me, but I don’t care.” Depp wrote back, “I have other uses for your throat which do not include injury.” In the witness stand, Depp asked, “I’m sorry, could you read that again.” Some in the courtroom laughed. Another series of texts were shown from May 22, 2016, the day after Depp and Heard’s confrontation at their downtown Los Angeles penthouse that led to her claim that he struck her, leaving her to seek a restraining order. “Sorry, I’m just leaving Amanda’s birthday now,” Heard wrote.

“Just let me know when you have a minute. And I’ll give you a call…Nothing I have to say to you should elicit anything but, a sense of ease…All my love and profound apologies…” Recordings of Depp threatening to self-harm were also

played. Heard’s attorneys also played a video that Heard took of Depp slamming his kitchen cupboard and breaking other objects. In it, he pours a tall glass of wine. “Have you drunk this whole thing this morning?” Heard asks, before he discovers that she had been recording with her phone, he appears to throw it.

“Clearly I was having a bad time,” Depp told the court. He acknowledged that he “did assault a couple of cabinets, but I did not touch Miss Heard.” He said that Heard had illegally recorded the video, and that “the most interesting part” was that she was shown smiling at the end of it. “One does stray from complete control over their emotions at times, and that is very normal primal thing to do,” Depp said. Another audio clip was played where Depp is heard using the “C” word about Heard, followed by the sound of what appeared to be him throwing up.

In a text that Depp sent to Heard’s father, David, in late December, 2015, the actor wrote, “Yes, I fucked up and went too far in our fight.” Depp said that the text didn’t refer to a “physical fight.” Rottenborn also played an audio from earlier in the month which seemed to reveal that Depp also got physical in a confrontation. “I head butted you in the fucking forehead. That doesn’t break a nose,” Depp tells Heard. “I did say those words, but I was using the words that Miss Heard was using, but there was not an intentional head butt,” Depp said. “If you want to have a peaceful conversation with Ms. Heard, you might have to placate a little bit.”

The jury will reportedly return on Monday, at which time the cross examination will continue.

BREAKING: CBFC passes Ajay Devgn's Runway 34 and Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse Of Madness with U/A certificate and ZERO cuts

Superstar Ajay Devgn is known just for his acting chops but also for his directorial ventures. Whenever he has donned the director’s hat, he has come up with larger-than-life films, be it U Me Aur Hum (2008) or Shivaay (2016). Hence, the expectations are there from his next film as a director, Runway 34. It releases in Eid week and has created a buzz thanks to Ajay’s association as an actor and director and also thanks to the presence of Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh.

Bollywood Hungama has learnt that the film was certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on April 11. Interestingly, the film has been passed with a U/A certificate with zero cuts.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “At times, the CBFC spares the visuals but asks for deletion or modification of certain dialogues. In the case of Runway 34, no such demand was made as there was no need for it. Ajay Devgn has made it in such a way that the film was bound to get a clean U/A certificate. And that’s what happened.”

Reportedly, Runway 34 is based on a real-life incident involving a fight that had a narrow escape while trying to land at an airport. It’ll release in cinemas on April 29 and clash with Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2. The length of the film, as mentioned on the certificate, is 148 minutes. In short, Runway 34 is 2 hours and 28 minutes long.

Meanwhile, 4 days back, the CBFC also handed over the censor certificate to Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse Of Madness. Just like Runway 34, this much-awaited Hollywood superhero flick has also been given a U/A certificate without single audio or visual cut.

Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse Of Madness secured a certificate on April 20. The length of the film, as mentioned on the certificate, is 126 minutes long, that is, 2 hours and 6 minutes long. This makes it the shortest Marvel film in the last 3 years. The first Doctor Strange (2016) film was shorter, at 115 minutes.

Bollywood Hungama was the first to break the news on April 9 that in a rare instance, the advance booking of Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse Of Madness was thrown open on April 8, though the film is scheduled for a release nearly a month later, on May 6. Interestingly, several shows are already sold out.

The source said, “There’s tremendous excitement to see the film as it comes immediately after the monstrous blockbuster, Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Doctor Strange was a part of it too and it’s a continuation of the Spider-Man story in a way. Thanks to the short length, theatres can add more shows of the film to keep up with the heavy demand.”

Big Clash! Shah Rukh Khan–Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki to clash with Akshay Kumar–Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan on Christmas 2023

Earlier this week, Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan made headlines with the announcement of his next film titled Dunki. Making the announcement the actor confirmed reports of him featuring in maverick director Rajkumar Hirani’s next venture. While a teaser promo featuring the name of the film was released, SRK also revealed the release date of the film to be Christmas 2023. Interestingly though, the said date had already been locked in by a different big-ticket Bollywood actioner, viz. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

Announced on February 8, 2022, the film will see two of Bollywood’s leading action stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff uniting for the first time. Titled Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the film though sharing the name with the 1998 Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda starrer is not going to be a remake. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, it will be an out-n-out action entertainer and is expected to be mounted on a huge scale. Written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film will be produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, Himanshu Kishan Mehra, Ali Abbas Zafar. Presented by Vashu Bhagnani and Pooja Entertainment Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in association with AAZ films is being readied to release in five languages Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam on Christmas 2023.

On the other hand, Dunki will feature Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. As for the film, it is being said that Dunki will be based on the issue of "donkey flight" — an illegal backdoor route that has emerged as a popular escape path for Indians who wish to immigrate to the US and Canada. In this process, individuals enter a foreign country via multiple stops in other countries. It is a popular method among youngsters who do not get approval to enter their target country by legal ways. As for the filming, SRK even began shooting for the project in April this year on sets that were erected at FilmCity.

Johnny Depp says he will not work on Disney's Pirates of The Caribbean 6 even if offered $300 million during defamation trial

Johnny Depp has confirmed that he has no intentions of working with Disney again for another Pirates of the Caribbean film. In the recent Amber Heard defamation case trial, Depp revealed Disney wanted to “cut ties” with him and told the courtroom that he would turn down the studio if asked to return to Pirates of the Caribbean 6, even if offered "$300 million."

As Variety reports, Johnny Depp acknowledged on Wednesday that Disney was already wary of working with him before former wife Amber Heard wrote an op-ed alluding to her abuse claims in December 2018, as his cross-examination got underway in a Virginia courtroom. Depp has accused Heard of ruining his career by publishing the piece and is suing her for $50 million, alleging that her claims were fabricated. Under questioning from his own lawyer, Depp said that Disney dropped him from the sixth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean days after the piece was published. The film has not been produced and is currently in “dangle mode,” he testified.

But on cross-examination, Heard’s attorney, Ben Rottenborn, asked about a Daily Mail article from October 2018, which reported that Depp was “out as Jack Sparrow.” “I wasn’t aware of that, but it doesn’t surprise me,” Depp testified. “Two years had gone by of constant worldwide talk about me being this wife beater. So I’m sure that Disney was trying to cut ties to be safe. The #MeToo movement was in full swing at that point.” The actor also said that he won’t return to the franchise even if he was offered $300 million.

“The fact is, Mr. Depp, if Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film? Correct?” Heard’s lawyer asked to which Depp answered, “That is true, Mr. Rottenborn.”

As the outlet notes, Heard first accused Depp of domestic violence when she filed for a restraining order in 2016. Those claims were resolved when the couple’s divorce was settled a few months later, and he and Heard issued a joint statement which included the line that “neither party has made false accusations for financial gain.” Depp said that lawyers had crafted the statement, and that he had wanted to fight the allegations because “there was not a molecule of truth to it.” But in the end, he agreed to pay her $7 million, which she promised to donate to charity, to resolve the divorce. “The advice I was given was to not fight it,” he testified. “I wasn’t given much of a choice.”

Depp and his former wife are currently fighting for a multi-dollar defamation case after their divorce turned bitter in 2018. Depp's $50 million lawsuit was launched after Heard wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post, where she alleged that Depp physically and sexually abused her while Depp states that Heard was the abuser in their relationship. Depp’s suit alleges that he suffered career-ending harm when Heard revived the claims in the Washington Post piece. While Heard never named Depp in the article, the fallout did prove to be detrimental for the 58-year-old, ruining his Hollywood career since.

“I would be a real simpleton to not think that there was an effect on my career based on Ms. Heard’s words, whether they mentioned my name or not,” he said. But he also stated that his career was “done” from “the second the allegations were made against me. Once that happened, I lost then. No matter the outcome of this trial, I’ll carry that for the rest of my days… I’m suing her over defamation and the various falsities that she used to bring my life to an end.”

Depp testified that even after Disney contemplated removing him from Pirates 6, the company still featured his character at theme parks around the world. “They didn’t remove my character from the rides,” he said. “They didn’t stop selling dolls of Captain Jack Sparrow. They didn’t stop selling anything. They just didn’t want there to be something trailing behind me that they’d find.”

Depp took the stand on Tuesday, the fifth day of the trial. His attorney, Jessica Meyers, led him through several hours of testimony in which he recounted fights with Heard, including an episode in which his right middle fingertip was severed Depp alleged that Heard would repeatedly attack him and berate him, and that he would typically hide by locking himself in a bedroom or a bathroom. He denied ever getting violent with Heard. Meyers concluded her direct examination of Depp on Wednesday afternoon.

Heard’s lawyer Rottenborn's cross-examination will continue on Thursday. Heard will reportedly take the stand later on in the trial, which is expected to last about six weeks. At an earlier trial in the United Kingdom, a judge rejected Depp's defamation claim against The Sun newspaper, finding that Heard's abuse claims were "substantially true."

SEVENTEEN to release fourth full length album 'Face the Sun' on May 27, 2022

South Korean group SEVENTEEN will make their highly-anticipated return at 1 PM KST on May 27 (9:30 AM IST on May 27) with their 4th full-length album Face the Sun.

At midnight today, the title and the release date of SEVENTEEN’s forthcoming album was revealed with a cryptic first glimpse into the album. In contrast to the mellow, pastel-colored aesthetics the act recently presented through the pre-release track “Darl+ing,” the stills of a staircase, ropes, the sun, a map and a structure laid across the teaser imply a more muted but multi-faceted shade to the stories to unfold.

Opening their new chapter with “Darl+ing” earlier this month, the team of 13 creatives hinted that the upcoming album will tell stories they hold closer to their hearts than ever, imbued with thoughts and feelings they have kept to themselves until now.

The K-pop supergroup’s first English-language single “Darl+ing,” released on April 15, landed in Top 10 of iTunes Top Songs Chart across 46 countries/regions around the world, topping the chart in 34 of the countries/regions.

Pre-order for Face the Sun begins on April 22 (KST).

Agastya Nanda prepares to carry the Bachchan legacy forward

Having been signed by Zoya Akhtar to play the male lead in her indigenous adaptation of the Archie comics’ universe opposite Khushi Kapoor and Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, son of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan’s daughter Shweta, is being fully tutored into the art of facing the camera.

Luckily, Agastya is a fast learner. Says a source close to the Bachchan family, “Neither of Agastya’s parents are actors. So he is leaning on his grandparents and his Maamu (Uncle) Abhishek Bachchan for guidance. Agastya has always been a big fan of his grandfather and of the Archie comics. So he has the advantage of being a part of the cinematic universe that he will soon occupy officially, even before facing the camera.”

One hears Agastya is already getting several offers from the biggest banners. But he wants to wait until Zoya’s project materializes before thinking of another project.

Tiger Shroff to attend the launch of Heropanti 2's Whistle Baja 2.0 song at Gaiety cinemas

Tiger Shroff is currently gearing up for the release of his action-packed film Heropanti 2. The film directed by Ahmed Khan will be released in theatres on April 29. Apart from the high octane action sequences in the film, the music of the film composed by AR Rahman has had the audience hooked. The makers have been arranging separate events for the launch of every song. After ‘Dafa Kar’, ‘Jalwanuma’, and ‘Miss Hairan’, the team is all set to launch the song ‘Whistle Baja 2.0’.

The new track will be launched at an event at Gaiety cinemas in Bandra on Saturday. Tiger Shroff will be attending the event. Sung by Neeti Mohan and Mika Singh, the song has been penned by Mehboob and composed by A R Rahman.

This time around the sequel of the blockbuster has been mounted on a huge budget and will witness never-seen-before action.

Written by Rajat Arora and music by A R Rahman, Sajid Nadiadwala’s Heropanti 2 is directed by Ahmed Khan, who also directed Tiger’s last release Baaghi 3. Tara Sutaria and Nawazuddin Siddiqui also play pivotal roles in the film. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on 29th April 2022 on the auspicious occasion of Eid.

"I step back"- Akshay Kumar apologises for his association with Elaichi brand; says he will donate the endorsement fee

Akshay Kumar, who was roped in as the brand ambassador of Vimal Elaichi a couple of days back has "stepped back" after facing criticism from his fans. In a recent ad for the brand, Akshay was seen sharing screen with actors Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan, who are also brand ambassadors of the product. While the ad promotes elaichi, it falls under the category of surrogate advertising as the brand is famously known for selling tobacco.

Akshay Kumar’s entry into the Elaichi universe met with severe criticism from fans which has led to the actor apologisng for his association with the brand. The actor issued a statement on Thursday and said that he will be donating his endorsement fee. “I am sorry. I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me,” he stated.

“While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi. With all humility, I step back. I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes,” he added.

Director-producer T Rama Rao who made films with Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth passes away at 83

Senior producer-director T Rama Rao passed away on Wednesday, April 20 in Chennai. The 83-year-old who has helmed 70 films in Telugu and Hindi languages breathed his last during the early hours of Wednesday.

T Rama Rao who resided in Chennai's T Nagar area died at around 12.30 am due to age-related illness. His funeral will be held at Kannamapet crematorium at 4 pm on Wednesday. He is survived by his wife Tatineni Jayashree and children Chamundaeswari, Nag Suseela, and Ajay.

T Rama Rao has also bankrolled several hit films in Tamil. He has worked with some of the biggest stars of the film industry in India. From NTR, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Sridevi, Jayapradha, to ANR, he has worked with some of the greatest talents of the industry.

He joined the Hindi film industry in 1979 and worked with actors like Dharmendra, Jeetendra, Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Mithun Chakraborty, Anil Kapoor, and Amitabh Bachchan. He made movies like Andhaa Kanoon, Ek hi Book, Dosti Dushmani, Insaf Ki Pukar, Muqabla, Jung, among others in Hindi.

In Tamil, he produced films under the banner of Sri Lakshmi Productions and worked with actors like Vijay, Vikram, Jayam Ravi, and Vishal.

After getting complaints about the UNUSUALLY high volume, KGF - Chapter 2 makers send rectified prints to theatres

The much-awaited actioner, KGF - Chapter 2, was finally released on April 14 and it has been breaking box office records ever since. The film had huge weekend numbers and even on the weekdays, it seems to be holding well. The majority of the moviegoers have loved the film’s plot, action, scale, mass element, and of course the performance of lead actor Yash. However, several viewers have complained about one aspect of the film.

A lot of patrons have complained that the film is too loud, with many calling it the loudest film that they have seen in their lives. Several exhibitors across the country got complaints and also requested that the volume should be lowered. Taking note, the makers have now decided to send revised prints of KGF - Chapter 2. If all goes well, from tomorrow, that is, April 20, viewers will be able to enjoy the film without any sound issues.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The sound is unusually loud in KGF - Chapter 2. A few exhibitors adjusted the volume on their own but couldn’t lower it much as then, the dialogues would become difficult to comprehend. As for the viewers, some didn’t mind. Kuch log toh joke karne lage ki film dekhne ke baad ENT specialist ke paas jaana padega. However, there were reports of angry moviegoers complaining to the duty managers about the high decibels. The KGF - Chapter 2 makers, obviously, don’t want viewers to have an uncomfortable time. Hence, when a barrage of complaints was reported, they decided to rectify the problem immediately.”

The source continued, “The new prints have been dispatched. The theatres are now playing the new version. Now, they are confident that no one will complain about the sound and that everyone will be able to enjoy the film to the fullest.”

Priyanka Chopra and Sam Heughan's upcoming film It's All Coming Back To Me is all set to release in the theatres on February 10, 2023. Priyanka took to her social media handle to share the first look of the film and also announced the new title and release date of the film. The film was formerly titled Text For You.

On the Bollywood front, Priyanka was last seen in the film The Sky Is Pink. She will soon start shooting for Farhan Akhtar's directorial Jee Le Zara. The film also stars Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.

On the personal front, Priyanka and her husband Nick Jonas turned parents earlier this year when they welcomed their baby girl via surrogacy. “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for your privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much," a joint statement by the couple read.

Huma Qureshi turns Tarla Dalal for the first-ever biopic on a Chef

Huma Qureshi will be essaying the role of India’s first-ever Home chef, Tarla Dalal. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and Nitesh Tiwari, the epic food filler will be directed by Piyush Gupta.

While talking about the late chef and her decision to make a film on Tarla’s life, producer Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari says, “Tarla’s story is a lot more than her being an iconic chef. It’s a story about a working mother who single-handedly changed the face of vegetarian cooking in India and paved way for many such home cooks and start-ups to aspire and achieve their dreams."

Huma says, “Tarla Dalal reminds me of my childhood. My mom had a copy of her book in the kitchen and would often try many of her recipes for my school tiffin. I also clearly remember the time when I helped mom make Tarla‘s homemade mango ice cream. This role has taken me back to those sweet childhood memories and I am very thankful to Ronnie, Ashwini, and Nitesh for having faith in me to play this awe-inspiring character.”

Ronnie Screwvala says, "Tarla Dalal transformed home cooking in India. Her story is a textbook example on entrepreneurship - how it is never too late to work towards your ambitions. Very excited and looking forward to collaborate again with Ashwiny and Nitesh".

Adding to his experience, Nitesh Tiwari says “In a world full of several biopics on every epic personality, a biopic on Tarla Dalal was long-awaited. Through her story, we want to encourage many such young entrepreneurs who desire to have their own businesses from the comfort of their homes. “

Piyush Gupta, who has been a writer on films like Dangal, Chhichhore, says, "I am delighted to have the opportunity to illustrate Tarla Dalal’s life on screen. Being a foodie myself, the intention is to make this film a treat for all food lovers to gorge on".

Tarla Dalal was an Indian food writer, chef, cookbook author, and host of cooking shows. She was the first Indian to have been awarded a Padmashree award in the culinary skills category in 2007. This is for the first time Bollywood will be depicting the life story of a chef on screen. The late chef, who was popular for her palatable recipes was every cook’s inspiration, and her cooking instructions are still present in every culinarian’s food dairy. Her “desi nuskhe” are still a topic of conversation in every Indian household, often given credit for refashioning vegetarian food in India.
