Ayush Mehra is eager for Cannes debut: “I’m not at all nervous”

Actor Ayush Mehra is set to make his debut at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, joining the ranks of Indian artists gracing the prestigious event. In an interview with News18 Showsha, Ayush expressed his exhilaration about representing the vibrant Indian actors’ community on such a grand stage.

“Yes, this is my first time attending the red carpet at Cannes and I’m extremely excited. I’m not at all nervous because it’s a film festival and I feel it’s where I belong. I’m an actor and it’s so inspiring to be in the presence of so many renowned personalities I’ve grown up watching all my life. It’s going to be like I’m in La La Land,” he shared, emphasizing the dream-like nature of his upcoming experience.

Ayush is particularly looking forward to several screenings at the festival. He mentioned that he is eager to watch Kinds of Kindness and Bird and is especially excited about Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis. "I cannot miss that. I want to try my best to get into that screening," he said. Additionally, he expressed support for Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light, which is competing for the prestigious Palme d’Or, marking a significant moment for Indian cinema.

As a fan of George Miller, Ayush is thrilled about the premiere of Furiosa and is keen on catching Shyam Benegal’s Manthan, presented in the Classics section. "I’m a huge fan of George Miller and his movie Mad Max: Fury Road. I must have watched that movie at least 50 times. Furiosa is being premiered there which again I cannot wait to watch," he enthused, highlighting his diverse cinematic interests.

While Cannes is renowned for its film screenings, it is also a major fashion event. For his debut on the red carpet, Ayush has collaborated with new-age stylist Kudrat Anand but remains secretive about his look. “Well, it’s a surprise and you all will have to wait. I take my fashion game very seriously and I shall see you at the red carpet looking my dapper best!” he remarked, leaving fans eagerly anticipating his appearance.

Vicky Kaushal started his acting journey with a minor role in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur before his lead debut in Masaan

Known for his spellbinding performances in a variety of movies, Vicky Kaushal has entrenched himself as one of most versatile actors in Bollywood. On his birthday, fans and moviegoers have much to celebrate.

Vicky is known to many made his debut in Masaan for which he was highly appreciated in 2015. But that wasn’t the start to the actor’s acting journey. In 2012 Vicky had a minor role in Anurag Kashyap’s prominent film Gangs of Wasseypur.

In the iconic movie Vicky played a background character during the heated exchange between Nagma Khatoon and Sardar Khan played by Richa Chadha and Manoj Bajpayee respectively at a brothel. In a conversation with Mid Day, Kaushal spoke about how he got his role sharing that the original junior artists selected for the role backed out once they realised the setting was a brothel. Vicky who was assisting on the film then stepped in to fill the gap. “I’m that silhouette you see overacting behind the window grille when Nagma Khatoon is cursing Sardar Khan” he hilariously recalled.

His collaboration with Kashyap was not just till that but beyond as he continued to assist and act in Raman Raghav 2.0 in 2016. Vicky’s incredible journey started as an assistant director to acting as background and eventually being lead for successful films like URI: The Surgical Strike, Raazi and Sam Bahadur is the attestation to his talent.

He will soon be seen on-screen in Anand Tiwari’s Bad News with Tripti Dimri, Ammy Virk and Neha Dupia.

Kangana Ranaut's Emergency postponed again due to Lok Sabha elections

The release of Kangana Ranaut's political drama Emergency has been postponed once again. The makers of the film issued a statement on Wednesday, announcing that the film will not hit theatres on June 14, 2024, as originally planned. This decision comes as Kangana Ranaut is currently deeply involved in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, where she is contesting from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

In the statement, the team behind Emergency expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received for Kangana Ranaut, affectionately referred to as the "queen" by her fans. They emphasized her commitment to serving the nation and fulfilling her responsibilities as a political candidate, which has led to the postponement of the film's release.

“Our hearts are filled with love pouring in for our queen Kangana Ranaut. As she prioritizes her duty to the nation and her commitment to serve the country, the release date of our much-awaited film ‘Emergency’ has been postponed. Emergency promises to delve into significant political events. The film is expected to explore the tumultuous period of India's history during the Emergency era, which lasted from 1975 to 1977.

This is not the first time Emergency has faced delays. The film, directed by Kangana Ranaut herself, has seen its release date pushed back on several occasions. The film also stars Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhary, Shreyas Talpade, and Anupam Kher. Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par cuts Delhi shoot short due to expense; Raid 2 shifts filming from Delhi to Lucknow amidst soaring costs: Report

Aamir Khan is bringing Christmas cheer this year with his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par. This project promises to be both emotionally resonant and entertaining. Marking Khan's return to socially conscious cinema, the film tackles the challenges and triumphs of individuals with Down syndrome. Based on the Spanish sports dramedy Campeones, Sitaare Zameen Par is directed by RS Prasanna and began filming earlier this year. The movie is slated for a Christmas release.

The story revolves around Khan, playing a headstrong but ultimately kind-hearted basketball coach. As part of his community service, he's tasked with leading a Special Olympics basketball team. This team is anything but ordinary - it's brimming with talented individuals with diverse learning disabilities. News from the sets hints at a captivating narrative centred around the Paralympic Games, a prestigious international sporting event for differently-abled athletes.

Earlier, it was reported that the actor and the team would head to New Delhi for the shoot. However, there's a twist! Filming in Delhi, the capital of India has become significantly expensive. According to a report in Hindustan Times, the shooting permits for iconic locations like the Rajiv Chowk metro station or the international airport come with hefty price tags. Due to these rising costs, Sitaare Zameen Par's Delhi schedule has been significantly reduced. Originally planned for a month, the shoot will now be condensed to just 8-10 days in July. The team will likely recreate some Delhi scenes in other locations like Lucknow or Madhya Pradesh to stay within budget.

A source previously revealed to the publication that the film was to be shot extensively in Delhi, with iconic locations like Lal Qila (Red Fort), Lodhi Garden, Purani Dilli (Old Delhi), and Tyagraj Stadium serving as backdrops. “The schedule is set for one month, between May and June. Directed by RS Prasanna, the movie began filming in February 2024 and is slated to hit theatres by Christmas.

Interestingly, a few weeks ago, Bollywood Hungama reported Ajay Devgn starrer Raid 2 completed its final schedule in New Delhi. Interestingly, Raid 2 went on floors early this year, on January 6, 2024. The source continued, “The makers had meticulously planned the shoot. Everything went as per the plan and in less than four months, the shooting will conclude.” Besides Delhi and Lucknow, Raid 2 was also filmed in Mumbai and Rajasthan.

However, Hindustan Times reports that Ajay Devgn starrer also opted a similar module to cut down on the costs. “They shot in the city for four days, including India Gate, and then 47 days in Lucknow. Atleast 20-25 films in today’s time are being shot in Lucknow because of the subsidies and quick permissions,” a person from the production said.

Both Raid and Raid 2 are directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. It is all set to release in cinemas on November 15 this year. Raid 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar. The film is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series and is a Panorama Studios production. Kangana Ranaut declares assets worth Rs. 91 crore in election affidavit: 7 properties, Rs. 1.35 cr bank balance, 3 luxury cars, 6.7 kg gold

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, who is contesting as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh for the Lok Sabha seat, has disclosed assets totalling over Rs. 91 crore in her election affidavit. The 37-year-old actor-turned-politician's assets comprise Rs. 28.7 crore in movable assets and Rs 62.9 crore in immovable assets.

According to the reports in NDTV, India Today and several other reports, Kangana holds Rs. 2 lakh in cash and nearly Rs 1.35 crore in her bank accounts. She possesses properties in Mumbai, Punjab, and Manali, along with three luxury cars – a BMW, a Mercedes Benz, and a Mercedes Maybach – valued at Rs 3.91 crore. Additionally, she owns 6.7 kg of gold, estimated at Rs. 5 crore, 60 kg of silver valued at Rs. 50 lakh, and 14-carat diamond jewellery worth Rs. 3 crore. The actor also has 50 Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) policies under her name, while her total liabilities stand at Rs. 7.3 crore.

Educationally, Kangana completed her Class 12 from a private school in Chandigarh. However, alongside her assets, her election affidavit also reveals that she faces legal troubles, with a total of eight criminal cases registered against her. Three of these cases are for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

In comparison, her opponent in the election, Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh, has declared assets worth approximately Rs. 96.70 crore.

The Mandi Lok Sabha constituency in Himachal Pradesh is scheduled to go to polls on June 1st, marking the 7th and final phase of the Parliament elections. Kangana, expressing her aspirations, stated that she hopes this is not her first and last time contesting, and looks forward to more opportunities to file nominations from Mandi in the future. Vikramaditya Singh had filed his nomination on April 9. Regarding Mallika Sherawat's departure, her team previously relayed to the media that she left the show. “Mallika exited the project in February due to creative differences with the production team. This exit paved the way for Tanwar to join the ensemble cast.

According to Mid-Day, Netflix has approved The Royals, which will alternate between present-day and past decades. The narrative features Bhumi Pednekar as a prominent entrepreneur, with the series being made on a grand scale like The Crown. The filming commenced on February 10 in Rajasthan, with scenes captured at authentic settings like the City Palace and Rambagh Palace. The production, directed by Nupur Asthana and Priyanka Ghose, promises a stylish and emotional drama exploring the style, politics, and fabulous lives of aristocrats.

In the instance of Anup Soni, his likeness was used to promote unlawful activities, creating anguish and raising worries about the consequences for celebrities' reputations.

The video in issue, which encouraged internet users to join Telegram groups, received millions of views, demonstrating how quickly such information spreads online. After the video became viral, Soni himself issued a warning stating, “This is a completely fake video and we all have to be alert as to how and to what extent things are getting manipulated these days. The voice totally seems like I’m only saying. Even video clips are from Crime Patrol. Please be alert people!!”

Unfortunately, Soni is not the only star who has been targeted by deepfake makers. Recently, various high-profile actors, athletes, and politicians, including Ranveer Singh, Rashmika Mandana, Sachin Tendulkar, Aamir Khan, Amit Shah, and others, have had their likenesses used in similar ways, frequently for false or malevolent intentions. People, particularly victims and specialists, have emphasized the critical need for improved awareness and the creation of remedies to prevent the surge in deepfakes.

Delhi Police visits TMKOC sets amid Gurucharan Singh disappearance

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) fame Gurucharan Singh, who was loved by fans as Roshan Singh Sodhi, has been missing since April 22 this year. Recently, Delhi police visited the sets of the popular comedy show in connection with the case.

Delhi police is scanning all the CCTV footages to search Gurucharan Singh as early as possible, but as actor left his phone in Palam area, tracing the missing actor is posing a challenge for the cops.

According to news reports and police investigations, many TMKOC actors were in touch with Gurucharan Singh. To find hints of the actor’s whereabouts, Delhi Police visited the sets of the show. According to sources from the sets, “This week Delhi police visited our sets and spoke with the actors who were in touch with Gurucharan Singh. Everyone has co-operated well with the police. “

As confirmed by Sohil Ramani, Head of Production of Neela Films "As a part of their investigation, Delhi police had visited our set. They went back assured that there were no dues from our end towards Gurucharan. We continue to pray for his well being and hope he is found soon."

Gurucharan's family has registered a missing complaint and everyone from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah sets and the production team is shocked and worried about the development. Every day, they are praying for his well-being.

Ratna Pathak opens up about Naseeruddin Shah's family for accepting inter-faith marriage

Naseeruddin Shah, a veteran actor, married Ratna Pathak Shah in 1982. After decades of marriage, Ratna has spoken up about her family's attitude to their union and how Naseeruddin's family was more tolerant than her own. She also discussed the secret to a successful marriage.

In an interview with Hauterrfly, Ratna was asked if her family objected to her marriage with Naseeruddin. The actor said, “My dad was not entirely happy, but unfortunately, he passed away before we got married. Maa and Naseer had a more rocky relationship but they settled also and eventually became friends.”

Ratna continued, “Naseer’s family surprisingly didn’t make a fuss at all. Not once did anybody ever even mention the ‘C’ word, convert. Nobody said anything about me. They just accepted me for what I am. I’m very, very lucky because I’ve heard of people who have trouble settling down. Afterwards, I’ve been friends with all of them, including my mother-in-law, who was a very homebound kind of person but extremely liberal in every situation.”

The actor also discussed her connection with Naseeruddin and how gender roles are not definite in marriage.  She said, “Just listen to each other, man. Actually talk to each other. I respect him and his struggles very much more than my own because I got it easy. Naseer comes from a very traditional, particular kind of background.”

Speaking about the secrets of a successful marriage, she said, “Naseer said to me very early on in our relationship that it’s a good idea never to label a relationship, husband, wife, lover, girlfriend, boyfriend. Why label if you can just keep yourself more at the level of human beings, interact. It helps, and luckily, we were able to do that with our children as well.”

Kareena Kapoor Khan receives court notice over her book’s title Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible

Kareena Kapoor Khan has found herself embroiled in a legal tussle regarding her book titled ‘Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible’. The Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued a notice to the actress after a petition was filed by advocate Christopher Anthony expressing his angst over the use of the word ‘Bible’ in the title of her book. In his petition, he has contended that the book's title, specifically the use of the word "Bible," is disrespectful to the Christian community.

Anthony alleges that Kapoor Khan's choice of title seeks to exploit the revered status of the Bible for publicity, deeming it inappropriate to draw parallels between her pregnancy journey and the sacred text of Christianity. “Bible is the holy book of Christianity all over the world and it is wrong to compare Kareena Kapoor Khan’s pregnancy with the Bible,” he reportedly said in the statement. Justice Gurpal Singh Ahluwalia, presiding over a single-judge bench, has summoned Kareena Kapoor Khan to provide an explanation for her decision to incorporate ‘Bible’ in the book's title. Not only the actress but also the book's sellers have been served notice.

Initially, Anthony sought legal recourse through the police, urging them to file an FIR against Kapoor Khan upon the book's release in 2021 but they declined to register the complaint. Subsequently, his petition was rejected by the lower court on the grounds of insufficient evidence to establish the alleged offense. Undeterred, Anthony pursued the matter to the Additional Sessions Court, where his plea was once again dismissed.

Speaking of Kareena Kapoor Khan, the actress decided to write this book to share her journey towards motherhood and her experiences which have been compiled together in this book. The actress, during the book launch, had revealed that her aim was to help future mothers to understand how to deal with motherhood and the challenges that they experience physically, mentally, and emotionally during this integral phase of their lives.

Prime Video announces the global streaming premiere of Sidharth Malhotra starrer Yodha

Varun Dhawan gets annoyed at the paparazzi: “Tereko andar aana hai?”

On Tuesday, actor Varun Dhawan was spotted visiting a clinic in Mumbai wherein he was followed inside by the paparazzi making him loose his cool. A video was shared on Instagram by a paparazzi account capturing the incident.

The account also shared a video in which we can see him exiting his car while being ringed by his security, following which he makes his way into the clinic. Before entering, he can be seen looking at the cameramen nettled as they called his name. In the video we can see him asking the paparazzi “Tereko andar aana hai?” to which the paparazzi can be heard responding with a “Nai Nai”.

Previously various similar experiences have been encountered by celebrities like Taapsee Pannu, Anushka Sharma, Shahid Kapoor and many more. A very recent similar incident also occurred when Jr NTR got annoyed by the paparazzi while shooting for War 2 with Hrithik Roshan. A video of him went viral asking the paparazzi to ‘leave it’ and stop him from filming after being followed inside.

Dhawan has currently many projects lined up, including the Indian edition of Citadel titled Citadel: Honey bunny alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu by Raj & DK and Shashank Khaitan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari alongside Jhanvi Kapoor. BREAKING: Sarfarosh's special screening to be held in Mumbai on the occasion of its 25th anniversary; Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre to grace the screening

One of the most loved films of Indian cinema, Sarfarosh (1999), celebrated its 25th anniversary on April 30. Starring Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre in lead roles, the film was loved for its realistic cum commercial treatment, action, performances, plot and above all, the evergreen music. In short, Sarfarosh stands out and when a film like this completes 25 years, the celebrations have to be huge. Keeping this in mind, a grand event is happening in a few days to celebrate Sarfarosh.

Bollywood Hungama has learnt that a special screening of the film will be held in Mumbai. Popular radio station, Radio Nasha, has taken the initiative to organize the screening on Friday, May 10 at PVR Juhu in Mumbai.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre will be attending the 25th anniversary screening of Sarfarosh. Mukesh Rishi, who played a memorable role in the film, has also confirmed his presence. It is not known if Naseeruddin Shah will make it. However, director John Matthew Matthan and music director Lalit Pandit will grace the screening.”

The source continued, “As it happens with the screenings of Radio Nasha, the cast and crew members will be felicitated and will be encouraged to share their memories and trivia by RJ Divya Solgama. This will be followed by the screening of Sarfarosh. Along with the team of the film, fans can also be a part of this unforgettable event as they’ll have a chance to win tickets to the premiere.”

The source expects a huge turnout for the premiere, “After all, there’s a generation of viewers who must have been too young or were not born when Sarfarosh was released in 1999. It was a landmark film as it talks about cross-border terrorism, arms trafficking etc., which are pressing issues even today. Also, the songs continue to be popular, especially ‘Hosh Waalon ko Khabar Kya’.”

Radio Nasha has held several such screenings of significant films in the past. One of their most memorable events was the screening of Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994), on its 25th anniversary. It was held on August 9, 2019, at Mumbai’s Liberty Cinema. Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, director Sooraj Barjatya and many others graced the screening. The way the lead actors danced and the way the cast and crew went down memory lane made it a very exciting occasion.

In 2022, Radio Nasha organized a screening of Gupt (1994) on its 25th anniversary, on July 9 at Metro Inox Cinema. Lead actors Bobby Deol and Kajol, director-editor Rajiv Rai, production designer and co-writer Shabbir Boxwala, music director Viju Shah, art director Bijon Das Gupta, singers Udit Narayan, Sunita Rao and Sadhana Sargam, voiceover artist Chetan Shashital and actors Harish Patel, Mukesh Rishi, Tej Sapru and Dalip Tahil were in attendance. Bobby had made the evening memorable as he danced to his entry song ‘Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela’ when it was played on the screen.

Last year, Khalnayak’s (1994) 30th-anniversary screening was attended by Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Ali Asgar, Anand Balraj, director Subhash Ghai, singers Alka Yagnik and Ila Arun, art director Bijon Das Gupta, dialogue writer Kamlesh Pandey, costume designer Neeta Lulla and Ramesh Taurani of Tips.

Makers of Rajkummar Rao-Janhvi Kapoor’s Mr And Mrs Mahi recreate a portion of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’s song ‘Say Shava Shava’?

The dry period in Bollywood might temporarily halt with the release of this week’s Srikanth, starring Rajkummar Rao, Jyotika, Alaya F and Sharad Kelkar. The movie-watching season will begin in full force with Mr And Mrs Mahi, which will arrive in cinemas on May 31. Bollywood Hungama reported last week that the trailer is on its way. Now, we bring to you another interesting development about this film, starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor.

A source told us, “The makers of the film have recreated the much-loved song ‘Say Shava Shava’ from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) for this film. The recreation is not done for the whole song. Rather, they have only chosen to recreate the stanza that begins with the line ‘Dekho Tainu Pehli Pehli Baar Ve’. It’s played during an important scene between the lead actors, Rajkummar and Janhvi.” Interestingly, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was directed by Karan Johar, who is also the producer of Mr And Mrs Mahi along with Zee Studios.

The source continued, “The song is played in the background and it now remains to be seen if it makes it to the final cut. There are times when songs, relegated to the background, might get changed. But ‘Dekha Tainu’ fits the narrative and let’s see what call is taken by the makers in this regard.

The original version of ‘Say Shava Shava’ is a popular dance number featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Kajol and Jaya Bachchan. It was composed by the late Aadesh Shrivastava.

Mr And Mrs Mahi is directed by Sharan Sharma, whose debut directorial was Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl (2020). Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the news, in November 2021, that Sharan’s next film has been titled Mr And Mrs Mahi. In January 2022, the makers dropped pictures of Janhvi prepping with Dinesh Karthik for the role of a cricketer.

Some days back, Janhvi Kapoor grabbed eyeballs as she was seen at an IPL match wearing a jersey that mentioned ‘Mahi’, as part of the promotions of the film.

Kangana Ranaut asks ‘if not me then who’ after giving consecutive flops as netizens troll her for claiming to be ‘the most respectable actor after Big B’

Just a day ago, Kangana Ranaut was heavily trolled for her speech wherein she asserted that she gets the maximum respect in the industry, after Amitabh Bachchan. This video clip of her making ‘high claims’ about her stardom in Bollywood resulted in netizens slamming the actress and many of them even remarked about the actress giving out 15 consecutive flops. Reacting to it, Kangana took to her social media to share a note where she quizzed the users, ‘if not her, then whom?’

Readers would be aware that Kangana is currently busy with her electoral campaign as the actress has joined politics as the BJP candidate from the Mandi constituency, which belongs to her hometown Himachal Pradesh. In a video from her campaign speech which found its way online, Kangana was seen saying, “Sara desh hairaan hai, ki wo Kangana, chahe Rajasthan chali jau, chahe mai West Bengal chali jau, chahe mai Delhi chali jau, chahe mai Manipur chali jau, aisa lagta hai ki mano itna pyaar aur itna sammaan… Mein daave se keh sakti hu ke Amitabh Bachchan ji ke baad aaj kisiko industry me milta hai to wo mujhe milta hai (The entire nation is surprised that, Kangana, no matter whether I go to Rajasthan or West Bengal or Delhi, or Manipur, I feel like I received so much love and respect, that I can assure you all, that after Amitabh Bachchan, if there is someone in the industry who gets so much respect, then it is me).”

Her speech sparked an outrage on social media where many took to the platform to slam the actress for making this statement. “Peak level of self-obsession,” claimed one of the users whereas another one added, “After giving flops over flops, Kangana Ranaut compare herself with Amitabh Bachchan. This is the biggest insult to Amitabh Bachchan..”. Followed by this reaction she received, Kangana decided to hit back  by sharing another post, but this time on her Instagram story.

In the post she wrote, “I clearly mentioned Bharat and its various states where I get overwhelming love and reception as an artist for my art as well as my integrity as a nationalist, not just my acting but my work for woman empowerment is widely appreciated. Aryan Khan kicks off last leg of Stardom shoot in Mumbai; eyes 2024 year-end release: Report

Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan's directorial debut, the highly anticipated web series Stardom, began the shoot in Goa in April 2024. According to a reliable source, as reported by Bollywood Hungama, filming kicked off this Friday, April 19th, in Goa. Adding to the star power, the source hinted that Bobby Deol was also expected to join the shoot for the final few days of filming. Now, there’s another update that Khan has begun his last leg of shoot.

As per a report in Mid-day, sources suggest the young director recently took over the expansive Royal Palms in Goregaon for a five-day filming schedule. The team is aiming to wrap up filming by the end of May if all goes according to plan.

The source shed light on the project's fast-paced progress, “Aryan was shooting all through April, the locations changing from a studio in Andheri East to Madh Island, and now Royal Palms. The shoot will go on at the Goregaon venue till the end of the week before moving to another location. Simultaneously, Aryan has been overseeing the editing process. Though there is no rush on the show's delivery, the team is keen to release it by the year-end.”

For his directorial venture, Aryan has chosen a familiar subject – the dazzling world of Hindi cinema. The series, which began filming in June 2023, will consist of six episodes. While the lead actor remains under wraps, it is said that Lakshya Lalwani is one of the protagonists. The project boasts a string of exciting cameos, including Shah Rukh Khan himself alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

Actors Aditya Roy Kapur and Ananya Panday have reportedly ended their relationship, according to a recent Times of India report. A close friend of the couple is quoted as saying that they had been dating for "almost two years" and the break-up "came as a shock to all of us."

The report also stated that they remain cordial and are "trying to move on" from the situation. Ananya has reportedly found solace in spending time with her new pet. The 2024 theme is "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion." The official dress code is “The Garden of Time”. The theme is inspired by a 1962 story. It's open to interpretation, but expect lots of flowers and plant-based outfits!

As per Vogue, “The exhibit will feature approximately 250 rare items drawn from the Costume Institute’s permanent collection. Spanning over 400 years of fashion history, the pieces will include designs by Schiaparelli, Dior, Givenchy, and more. Some garments that are too fragile to ever be worn again—such as a Charles Frederick Worth ball gown from 1877—will also be displayed via video animation, light projection, AI, CGI, and other forms of sensory stimulation.”

This year, Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth are the official co-hosts. They follow last year's group of famous people, which included Penélope Cruz and Roger Federer. Vogue's Anna Wintour has been running the Met Gala since 1995, making it the giant fashion party it is today!

Bhatt made her Met Gala debut in 2023, turning heads with a stunning Prabal Gurung couture creation. The renowned Indian designer crafted a couture masterpiece inspired by Karl Lagerfeld's iconic bridal look for Chanel's 1992 fall/winter collection. Ranveer Singh starrer Don 3 sets sight on international locations for filming; to shoot in London and Germany: Report

The highly anticipated Don 3 is gearing up for production, with Ranveer Singh stepping into the iconic role of the charismatic criminal mastermind.  This news, announced last year by director Farhan Akhtar, got the fans and industry talking, sparking both excitement and debate. While details surrounding the film have remained tightly under wraps, recent reports have shed some light on the production schedule and filming locations.

According to Dainik Bhaskar, the shoot is expected to commence later this year, aiming for a swift four-month turnaround. Interestingly, the report suggests a significant international focus, with Farhan Akhtar currently scouting locations in London and Germany. “A few days ago, Farhan Akhtar reached London with the core team to finalize shooting locations for Don 3,” the report stated. “Apart from London, the production team will also be heading to Germany. It's possible that filming might extend to other German cities as well.”

Adding to the intrigue, sources close to the production revealed a potential filming window between "after August this year and wrapping it up by December." While official confirmation from Farhan Akhtar and the team is awaited, these reports have certainly piqued the interest of fans.

The decision to cast Ranveer Singh as the successor to Shah Rukh Khan's portrayal of Don has been a source of much discussion. To announce the new direction for the franchise, Farhan released a captivating teaser featuring Ranveer's voice delivering a powerful dialogue, “Sher jo so raha hain woh jagega kab, puchte hai yeh sab. Unse keh do phir jaag utha hoon main, aur phir samne jald aane ko... (Everyone asks when the sleeping lion will wake up. Tell them I have awakened, and I'll be back soon).” This announcement divided social media, with some fans eager to see Ranveer take on the role, while others expressed a sense of nostalgia for Shah Rukh Khan's iconic performance in the past two films.

In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Farhan Akhtar had said last year, “I'm just really looking forward to get it going. I mean Ranveer is amazing. He's great for the part. He's also, as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous. You know about the thing that you're filling some big shoes. But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh Khan did it and everyone was like, ‘Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?’ That whole thing happened then. And it really is about an actor coming in and owning the part and making it, really like giving it their style and their flair and he has that. He has that in spades. So he's gonna do that. Yeah. So he's gonna do a great job. I think the responsibility is more of mine now to make sure that the script of the film works out the way I imagined."

He added, “The filming for Don (3) starts in 2025. We start in January of 2025. So there’s some time away.” When asked what makes a good Don, he said, “Self-confidence, flamboyance and the belief and the ability to do anything that your mind is set on.”

Thapan, along with another accused, Sonu Subhash Chander (37), were arrested in Punjab a week after the incident. The circumstances surrounding Thapan's suicide are under investigation.

As per a report in NDTV, Thapan, arrested in Punjab days earlier, took his own life in a lock-up toilet despite being guarded by police officers. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, with former police officer PK Jain highlighting the mandatory procedure of treating such incidents as murder cases and questioning all officers present.

Former Maharashtra senior police officer PK Jain highlighted that all deaths in police custody are treated as murder cases, and a thorough investigation will be conducted by the CID (Criminal Investigation Department). Jain further emphasized that lock-ups should be routinely checked for any objects that could be used for self-harm.

According to a report in PTI, all four accused – Thapan, Chander, the two shooters Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21) – are believed to be linked to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) identifies Bishnoi's gang as being involved in serious crimes including kidnapping, murder, extortion, and smuggling of weapons and drugs.

The Mumbai Crime Branch claims to have gathered strong evidence against Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi, who they have named as the prime suspects in the case. Anmol Bishnoi is reported to have claimed responsibility for the attack, citing a long-standing feud between the Bishnoi gang and Salman Khan stemming from a blackbuck poaching case in 1998.

Following the attack, authorities significantly bolstered Salman Khan's security detail, elevating it to the Y-plus category, one of the highest levels of protection offered in India. Additionally, Khan was granted permission to carry a firearm and reportedly acquired an armoured vehicle for his safety.

The arrest of the shooters, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, happened shortly after the incident. CCTV footage captured them fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. Further investigation led the police to recover two pistols, magazines, and bullets believed to be the weapons used in the attack from Gujarat's Tapi River. Both Gupta and Pal were initially remanded in police custody until April 29 to allow for further investigation into the motive behind the attack. MEGA SCOOP: Sajid Nadiadwala bags rights to Superstar Rajinikanth biopic; to bring his untold journey to global audiences

Over the last few weeks, we have been the first to inform our readers on multiple projects that maverick producer, Sajid Nadiadwala is working on. While he is all set to take his biggest film, Sikandar on floors in May, our exclusive sources inform us that Sajid Nadiadwala is silently working on a global film. A source close to the development tells us that Sajid Nadiadwala has signed a mega contract with Rajinikanth to procure the rights of making his biopic.

“Very few know that Sajid Nadiadwala is a big fan of not just Rajinikanth the actor, but also Rajinikanth the person. He believes that Rajinikanth’s story deserves to be seen by the world – from a bus conductor to a superstar. Sajid is personally looking into the script and working towards getting the film to the spectacle,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

Over the last few months, Sajid has been in constant touch with Rajinikanth and his family to get the authenticity of the story. “The idea is to make a film that stands the test of time. It’s the greatest rags to riches story, and will focus more on Rajinikanth the human,” the source told us further.

The Rajinikanth biopic will go on floors in 2025 and the casting will be done once the team has finalized the script. It’s all a work in progress at the moment.

Ahan Shetty and Pooja Hegde's Sanki is NOT a remake but an original Love Story by Sajid Nadiadwala

One of India's most celebrated producer, Sajid Nadiadwala recently announced a feature film with Ahan Shetty and Pooja Hegde. The filmmaker then confirmed that the Adnan Shaikh and Yasir Jah directorial has been titled Sanki. While the industry is buzzing that Sanki is a remake of Tamil Film, Adanga Maru starring Jayam Ravi, we have exclusively found out that it's an original love story written by maverick producer, Sajid Nadiadwala.

According to a source, "Sajid Nadiadwala was planning to make Adanga Maru with Varun Dhawan at one point of time with Anurag Singh as the director. However, the tides changed in the post-pandemic world and VD decided to stay away from a remake. Sajid feels Adanga Maru has great potential to do well in Hindi and will be revisiting the subject in 2025 with a fresh star-cast. It's a script close to his heart and he will definitely make it for big screen entertainment."

While Adanga Maru with Varun Dhawan was titled Sanki, the source further informed that the new Sanki has nothing to do with what Sajid was making in the pre-pandemic world. Currently the prep-work is underway and Sajid is committed to taking the film on floors in June 2024. "It's a start to finish two-month journey on Sanki and Sajid has conveyed his intention of making the film a Valentines' Day 2025 offering.  Ahan is presently training to play the twisted character of a Sanki in this actioner," the source told us further.

BREAKING: Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule is the FIRST Pan-India film to also release in Bengali; makers shoot a massive underwater sequence

Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, is arguably the most awaited film of the year and the excitement is increasing with each asset that the makers are presenting to the audience. The first part, Pushpa: The Rise - Part 01, was a huge hit across the country and the lead character and his mannerisms became a rage. As a result, there’s a lot of hope for the sequel. Realizing the potential of the second installment, the makers are leaving no stone unturned. And in a unique move, Pushpa 2: The Rule is all set to be released in Bengali. It is the first Pan-Indian film to have a release in the language.

Usually, Pan-India films, until now, have had a release in five languages, namely Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Pushpa 2: The Rule breaks the record as it’ll be released in as many as six languages in India. This was confirmed by popular music composer Devi Sri Prasad.

In an interview with Mid-Day, he revealed, “[In this edition], the story continues from where part one ended. It’s not like a franchise in which the actors are retained but the characters are different. Here, we are continuing with the same characters. So, you’ll notice progress in the music. Even then, we tried to make something different from the past soundtrack.”

He further said, “Also, this time, we are making the film in Bengali, so we have to go through the exercise in six languages. It took me more than two months to make the songs since I had to sit with the lyricists of each language to make it.”

A week ago, there were reports that popular singer Timir Biswas was going to do the voiceover or maybe sing in the Bengali version. When contacted, Timir, however, said that he hasn’t come on board yet.

Meanwhile, the makers of Pushpa 2: The Rule recently shot a massive underwater sequence. Yesterday, the film’s Polish cinematographer Miroslaw Brozek uploaded an intriguing image from the sets of the film on Instagram. When a fan asked “Are you guys shooting a boat sequence?”, he replied, “Underwater”.

Pushpa 2: The Rule is all set to release in cinemas on August 15, 2024.

Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf join Varun Dhawan – Janhvi Kapoor starrer Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari: Report

Back in February 2024, Bollywood Hungama reported that Varun Dhawan and Shashank Khaitan were teaming up for the third time after the success of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. This time, they're bringing a fresh twist with Janhvi Kapoor joining the party in Dharma Productions' upcoming film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The official announcement for the film dropped the same month, with an anticipated release date set for April 18th, 2025. This collaboration marks a reunion for Dhawan and Kapoor, who previously shared the screen in 2023's Bawaal.

But the casting doesn't stop there! The film boasts an exciting ensemble cast. According to a report in Pinkvilla, Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf have been roped in to play pivotal roles alongside the lead duo. The insider revealed, “It’s a pure family entertainer with romance in its backdrop, much like the kind of films that Shashank has made over the years.”

The source further elaborated that the film aligns perfectly with Dharma Productions' signature style – a vibrant celebration of love with music, larger-than-life sets, and a stellar cast. The source added, “The premise of SSKTK is very close to the kind of films that Dharma is known for as it celebrates love with colour, music, scale, and a strong star cast.”

The production is gearing up for a quick start with filming set to commence within two weeks. The initial schedule will kick off in Mumbai, followed by a picturesque shoot in Rajasthan. International locations might also be incorporated. Interestingly, the makers intend to wrap up filming by the end of 2024.

Shashank Khaitan's last directorial venture was Govinda Naam Mera, a Disney+ Hotstar release starring Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, and Kiara Advani.

Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan juggling the upcoming masala action film Baby John directed by Atlee Kumar and Kalees, slated for release on May 31st, 2024. This will be followed by David Dhawan's comedy film later this year.

Janhvi Kapoor, on the other hand, has a packed schedule too. Her upcoming projects include the pan-India films Devara: Part 1 with Jr. NTR and the period saga Karna with Suriya. Additionally, she has Karan Johar's Mr and Mrs Mahi and Junglee Pictures' Ulajh in the pipeline. Ranveer Singh and Prasanth Varma's next titled Rakshas; mythological film set in pre-Independence era: Report

Ranveer Singh is adding another exciting project to his already packed slate. Following Singham Again and Don 3 already on the cards, and rumours of him portraying the superhero Shaktimaan, reports claim that he is collaborating with Prasanth Varma, the director behind the recent box office success, HanuMan. Varma has allegedly approached Singh for a big-budget period film steeped in Indian mythology.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, Mythri Movie Makers will bankroll this project. Sources close to the development have shed some light on the project, tentatively titled Rakshas. Apparently, this film is part of a larger Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, where the director strategically introduces characters before uniting them in a grand finale. A source revealed, “Ranveer is blown away by the vision and long-term plans that his director has for the universe and is excited to embark on the journey of Rakshas soon.”

The pre-production seems to be progressing smoothly. The script, screenplay, and even pre-visualization are reportedly complete. The team is currently finalizing shooting schedules. Furthermore, the source added, “Ranveer has met Prasanth Varma and the team multiple times over the last few weeks and has already done a Pooja for the film on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in Hyderabad.”

Rakshas is touted as a period film set in the pre-independence era, boasting a mythological backdrop. Intriguingly, Singh's character is said to possess shades of a negative force. The specifics of his character arc remain under wraps, but sources hint at a character dealing with dark figures from Indian mythology.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Ranveer Singh is also collaborating with Aditya Dhar, on another project currently in pre-production. The shooting schedules for both Rakshas and Dhar's films are expected to be finalized within the next two weeks, with filming potentially commencing in the latter half of 2024.
